In the summer of 2024, within the framework of the cooperation agreement between KNUTD and JSC BARTEK S.A. (Poland), for the first time, practical training of students of the first (bachelor’s) level in the specialty 182 Light Industry Technologies on the latest production technologies in the conditions of the profile production of children’s shoes BARTEK S.A. (Minsk Mazowiecki, Poland) took place.
The Polish children’s footwear brand BARTEK has a rich history, stands out among other manufacturers for its high quality products, innovative approach to footwear production, and combines comfort, functionality and style. Today, the company, which cares about the healthy development of children’s feet and creates modern, stylish, anatomical footwear made of environmentally friendly materials, exports it to the Eastern and Western world markets, has its own shoe stores and a significant number of outlets in different EU countries.
The first to take part in the international practical training and adequately represent our famous institution were higher education students of different years studying under the EPP “Fashion Industry”, namely Svitlana Velitchenko, Anna Stepanova (Group BIMd-21) and Uliana Babak (Group BIMd-2-22). Practical training was carried out under the guidance of Associate Professor of the Department of TM Antonina Babych from KNUTD and with the support of Pavlо Bartnicki, Director of BARTEK S.A. (Poland), with partial provision of accommodation and travel expenses for students.
The students got acquainted with the structure and conditions of shoe production; studied the specifics of the main divisions – workshops, sections, workplace organisation, their technical facilities, relevant equipment, placement of technological equipment, peculiarities of technological processes and opportunities for their improvement.
The practical training programme provided for the acquisition of new theoretical knowledge and practical skills in design, modelling, construction and footwear manufacturing technology, which the students coped with perfectly.
Over the period of July 1-31, 2024, the girls worked hard to complete the tasks set by the company’s management in accordance with the internship programme. The work was intense, interesting and extremely informative. In practice, the students confirmed their acquired knowledge and skills in the following areas: mastery of CAD skills in the production of Del Cam Crispin footwear, sketches and technical drawings, making footwear models according to the Italian method, layout of footwear models, development of a technological sequence for the production of children’s footwear of various assortments and purposes. They also researched and analysed the types of products, materials and accessories used to manufacture them.
The diligence, perseverance and competence of our students were appreciated by the management of JSC BARTEK S.A., as evidenced by proposals for further cooperation with KNUTD, internships for students of the Department of Fashion Technology and employment of the University graduates at the said enterprise.
The students will talk about their impressions of the trip and the experience gained at a seminar for the students of the Faculty.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Pavlo BARTNICKI, the CEO of JSC BARTEK S.A., and the company’s team for the warm welcome, the opportunity to gain practical experience at a modern European children’s footwear company, and for their professionalism and cooperation!
