A new group of students who decided to take a responsible step into adulthood and independent life, entrusting the formation of their future professional knowledge and skills to our teaching staff, joined our Faculty.
On August 19, 2024, a meeting of the first-year students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion of KNUTD with the Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Natalia Ostapenko, Head of the Department of Fashion and Style, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Tetiana Struminska, Head of the Department of Fashion Technology took place in the meeting room of the Academic Council. Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Olha Haranina, Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Maria Bilyanska, Deputy Deans, curators of academic groups, and a representative of the student government of the Faculty were present at the meeting.
Natalia Ostapenko sincerely greeted the participants of the meeting and thanked the freshmen for their conscious choice of quality education at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and, in particular, at the Faculty of Arts and Fashion. Natalia Valentynivna also spoke about security measures at the University during the air-raid alarm, the student cafe, the scientific and technical library, the student center for fashion, creative ideas and creativity. She paid special attention to the strong teaching staff of the Faculty’s departments and noted that most of the academic staff members have practical experience in scientific, industrial, artistic, and design fields, which they actively pass on to students, teaching them to apply the acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Deputy Deans Oksana Vodzinska, Tetiana Dzykovych and Alla Kolodyazhna told the first-year students about the specifics of the educational process at the University, namely the full-time study schedule, the schedule of classes, the modular environment of the educational process, the procedure for calculating scholarships, the rules of living in the dormitory and the Psychological Assistance Center. Tetiana Dzykovych, Inna Kosiak, Svitlana Lozenko and Halyna Oliynyk had already created general chats with their freshmen over the weekend and on Monday, they warmly welcomed them to the University. Alla Kolodyazhna also announced an open lecture by Professor Olena Stepanova (Center for Educational Quality Management) for first-year students on “Principles of Academic Integrity of Students of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design” to be held on August 22, 2024 in aud. 4-0202.
Maria Maysak, Head of the Faculty's Student Trade Union Organization, emphasized in her speech that it is during the student years that everyone becomes a truly adult person, making decisions on their own. That is why, she pointed out, it is necessary to join the student government, which aims to protect the rights and interests of students, ensure their participation in the University management, as well as create opportunities for the intellectual and creative development of students, and promote social and public activity of higher education students.
The event was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere, and we hope that each participant will remember this day as one of the most important holidays of student life.
The team of teachers, staff and students gladly welcomes freshmen to their ranks and wishes them health and creative inspiration! We hold the educational front firmly!
