On 23 August 2024, teachers and students of the Faculty of Design celebrated National Flag Day of Ukraine with the grand opening of the exhibition of creative works by students of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD «My Ukraine - United and Independent» dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine.
The exhibition «My Ukraine - United and Independent» presents creative works by students of the Department of Graphic Design and the Department of Multimedia Design of KNUTD, which highlight the concept of Ukraine's unity and the Ukrainian struggle for independence. Posters and photographs by students demonstrate the theme of the war in Ukraine, the courage of Ukrainians, and the hope for our Victory.
On behalf of the Rector of the University, Ivan Gryshchenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the Dean of the Faculty of Design, Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, congratulated the audience on the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine, and emphasized the importance of such patriotic events to support and preserve the national identity of Ukrainians.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by students of the educational programmes «Graphic Design», «Multimedia Design», «Fashion Design», «Environmental Design», postgraduate students of the educational programme «Design» Anastasiia Yukhymchuk, Nadiia Liuklian and others, heads of departments of the Faculty of Design Nataliia Chuprina, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Ruslana Bezuhla, Doctor of Art History, Associate Professor, Olena Vasylieva, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Danylo Kosenko, Candidate of Art History, as well as faculty members, curators of academic groups Olena Herasymenko, Ruslana Khynevych, Liudmyla Melnyk, Sviatoslav Podlevskyi, Serhii Lavrusenko, Oleksandr Krotevych and others.
The curator of the exhibition, Oksana Maznichenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, spoke about the exhibits created by students under the guidance of teachers, highlighting the courage of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, volunteering, restoration of cultural values after enemy missiles, national symbols of Ukraine, demonstrating patriotism and the desire of Ukrainians to Victory..
Olena Vasylieva, Head of the Department of Multimedia Design, guarantor of the educational programme “Multimedia Design”, said that the exhibition features photographs by students of the Department, made as part of their studies, internships and the International Student Photo Contest «Hariacha Kruha» («Hot Ice»), organised by KNUTD.
Nataliia Chuprina, Head of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Guarantor of the educational programme «Graphic Design», congratulated everyone on National Flag Day and urged students to participate in such patriotic events, study hard, gain knowledge and profession for the development of our country.
On the same day, the first-year students of the Department of Graphic Design, together with the curator Yelyzaveta Derevianko, took part in the flash mob «Native Flag» in the scientific and technical library of KNUTD.
