10 September is the official Teacher’s Day in China. On this day, teachers and educators are honoured throughout the country. This holiday has its origins in Confucianism, which is why the date is timed to coincide with Confucius’ birthday.
Teachers and mentors have always been honoured and respected in China. On this day, meetings and celebrations are held in China. Most often, teachers are awarded. Students give their teachers flowers and gifts. Thousands of schoolchildren and students thank their teachers for their important work.
KNUTD academic staff members, who are currently in China lecturing at Qilu University of Technology (China) as part of the academic mobility programme, were solemnly congratulated by the management and students on their professional holiday. The teachers were also presented with flowers and memorable gifts.
