The first month of study for the 2024 freshmen of the Department of Fashion and Style of the University turned out to be full of events and activities. Young people join an interesting and full student life.

Together with the curators of the academic groups of the first year of the EP " Styling, design and artistic finishing of fashion industry products", PhD, Associate Professor Halyna Oliynyk and the EP " Design and Technology of Sewing Products", assistant Svitlana Lozovenko, students of the first (bachelor's) level of education regularly visit meaningful, interesting, developing and patriotic events.

So, on August 19, 2024, there was a meeting of first-year higher education students with the management of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, heads of the departments, curators and representatives of the Faculty's student self-government.

During the first days of study, meetings were held on the topic "What does a freshman need to know?". The curators also held a seminar for students about non-formal and/or informal education and the definition of academic difference in KNUTD, the order of work in the modular environment of the educational process of KNUTD, using the electronic service "Journal", etc. The baton of acquaintance of first-year students with the peculiarities of studying at KNUTD was taken over by the student curatorial unit. Senior students talked about the rights and responsibilities of a student, about opportunities to join student self-government, participate in creative and scientific clubs, join the Student Center for Fashion, Creative Ideas and Creativity, informed about the work of the Student Cafe educational center, psychological support center, etc. 

On August 22, 2024, the Director of the Center for Quality Management of Educational Activity, Doctor of Cultural Studies, Professor Olena Stepanova held a public lecture on the topic "Principles of academic integrity of students at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design", focusing on the main legislative acts on which the "Code of Academic Integrity" is based KNUTD", revealed the essence of such concepts as "academic integrity", "academic plagiarism", etc. The lecturer informed the students that the educational discipline "Anti-corruption and integrity" has been implemented at KNUTD. It was developed by the team of the Office of Integrity of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption within the framework of the "Transparent Universities" project and aims to form а system of knowledge and understanding of concepts integrity and corruption.

The students also participated in the events on August 23, 2024 in the KNUTD library dedicated to the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine. Library employees talked about the symbolism of the Ukrainian flag, presented a video presentation with the historical moment of bringing the national flag to the Verkhovna Rada on August 24, 1991. The students joined the viewing of book exhibitions, which were presented in the scientific and technical library for the Independence Day of Ukraine and the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine, who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, which is celebrated annually on August 29.

The first-year students of the Department of Fashion and Style were especially impressed by the exciting tour-lecture to the Embroidery Museum of KNUTD, which was held on August 28, 2024 by the director of the scientific and technical library of KNUTD, Tetyana Bukoros. She introduced the students to the original art of embroidery, told about various types, styles, and techniques of embroidery and showed bright paintings and towels, embroidered cloths, dolls, household items and other exhibits. The national-patriotic event was organized by curators Halyna Oliynyk and Svitlana Lozovenko. The authentic atmosphere of Ukrainian culture, presented unique exhibits, antiques and textile products that convey the wealth, hard work, generosity, and sincerity of the Ukrainian people captivated and interested the students.

On September 2, 2024, in the concert hall of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, a solemn Initiation Ceremony was held for the students of the first year of study. First of all, KNUTD Rector Ivan Gryshchenko congratulated the freshmen. Then the chairman of the Supervisory Board - Vasyl Kremen and its members, honored guests and well-known "masters of the word" - Anatoly Palamarenko and Vadym Kryshchenko addressed words of congratulations to the freshmen. The solemn atmosphere of the holiday was created by an emotionally rich, powerful and inspiring concert of the creative team of the Ukrainian Academic Folklore and Ethnographic Ensemble "Kalyna", which ended with loud applause as a sign of gratitude.

Thus, various events contributed to a meaningful acquaintance with the University and encouraged freshmen to establish the idea that they have an interesting and busy student life ahead of them.
