OPEN LECTURE ON CYBER SECURITY FROM THE SPECIALISTS OF THE NATIONAL POLICE FOR STUDENTS

On September 16, 2024, an important lecture was held at the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design for students of the specialties 122 "Computer Science" and 125 "Cyber Security" with the participation of experts from the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

The purpose of the lecture was to increase students' awareness of current cyber threats and best practices for information protection in the modern digital environment.

 

Key issues were discussed during the lecture:

1. Top threats in cyberspace: Cyber police experts shared the latest trends in cybercrime, including phishing, hacking, and the specific methods hackers use to access personal and corporate information.

2. Information protection methods: Lecturers focused on modern tools and technologies used to ensure cyber security. The role of intrusion detection systems and network monitoring to prevent attacks was discussed separately.

3. Legal aspects of cybercrime: Special attention was paid to legal mechanisms for combating cybercrime. Cyber police experts spoke about how cybercrimes are investigated, what laws govern cyberspace, and what the consequences are for individuals involved in criminal activity in this area.

4. Tips for future professionals: Lecturers shared practical tips for students on how to protect their personal data. They urged future professionals not only to protect systems, but also to constantly improve their skills as technology evolves and cyber threats become more sophisticated.

Such educational activities are an important part of the training of highly qualified specialists, which gives students a practical understanding of how to protect information systems, work in the conditions of modern threats, and deepen their knowledge in the field of the future profession.
