Students of the 026 “Performing Arts” program at the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, one of Ukraine's leading higher education institutions, participated in their first-ever tour as part of the XXVI International Festival “Melpomene of Tavria” within the independent theater project “Theatrical Exchange”!
The student actors in the professional performance in the genre of contemporary fantasy, “Orpheus.UNDERGROUND”, received a standing ovation from the audience! The applause lasted so long that the next day, journalists wrote about a new record for the longest time of sincere applause from the audience at the festival! Unprecedented!

This very ensemble was invited to participate in the XXVI International Festival "Melpomene of Tavria"! In challenging times, with no fear of being close to the active combat zone and adhering to all safety protocols, the student actors and creators of Orpheus.UNDERGROUND traveled to the resilient hero city of Mykolaiv, sharing the light of their hearts with everyone in the audience!

The director of this unique journey through the labyrinths of ancient Greek myths in the contemporary fantasy genre is Valeria Demchenko, a lecturer at the Department of Performing Arts and Culture at KNUTD. The choreographer is Kateryna Pavlova (a graduate of a master class in Stuttgart, Germany), and the choreographer assistant is Anastasia Tarkanii (a 2024 graduate of the 026 Performing Arts program at KNUTD). The artistic director of the production is People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor Lev Somov, of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture.

This performance touched not only the hearts of the audience but also those of professional critics and theater experts! The production featured several generations of graduates from the 026 Performing Arts program at KNUTD!
