On September 24, 2024, students of the Department of Smart Economics visited the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve.
The purpose of the study tour was to familiarize undergraduate and graduate students with one of the largest museum complexes in Eastern Europe and to deepen their knowledge of the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
Under the guidance of curators Z. Shatska, L. Melnyk and Head of the Department A. Oleshko, students got acquainted with the main church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Assumption Cathedral, the frescoes of the Church of the Savior on Berestovo, walked along Ekonomichna Street, where the monument of civil architecture of the XVIII-XIX centuries - the Economic Building - is located, and saw Kyiv from the height of the Great Lavra Bell Tower. The tour was joined by students of the BAM-24 group of the Department of Philology and Translation under the supervision of curator L. Roenko, as well as graduate students of the Department of Smart Economics.
At the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve, Yaroslav Ageev, a master student of the Department of Smart Economics, specialty 051 Economics, became our cultural tourism guide, conducted a tour and introduced the cultural heritage of Ukraine from ancient times to the present.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students visited the exhibition "The Dukes of Ostroh: European Dimension of Ukrainian History" dedicated to the representatives of the famous noble family of Ukraine who played a significant role in the historical processes that took place in Eastern and Central Europe in the XV - first half of the XVII century.
For a long time, the dukes of Ostroh actively influenced the socio-political, religious, and cultural processes in modern Ukraine and neighboring countries. The exhibition presents monuments of the XV-XX centuries - knightly armor, weapons of the XVI-XVII centuries (swords, sabers, cannon), church antiquities, old prints of the Ostroh printing house, paintings, engravings, and ancient documents. Among the exhibits is the famous Ostroh Bible of the late 16th century.
The study tour was held in a friendly atmosphere. The results of the event can be used by first-year students in theoretical and practical research in the study of the disciplines "Economic Theory", "Business Ukrainian", "Business Foreign Language", "Philosophy, Political Science and Sociology".
