The Faculty of Design of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) actively supports the implementation of the University's Sustainable Development Strategy until 2030, in particular through cooperation with international partners.
On September 20, 2024, the teachers of the Faculty of Design together with Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty, Natalia Chuprina, Doctor of Art Studies, Professor, Head of the Department of Art and Costume Design, Olha Yezhova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Graphic Design, Olena Herasymenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Art and Fashion Design participated in the International Conference “Technology and Sustainability: Empowering Youth with Tools for a Greener Future”. The event took place within the framework of the 2024 UN Future Summit.
The conference was organized by the non-profit organization “Hecho por Nosotros” (made by the US), which has consultative status at the UN and works on introducing systemic changes in the creative economy and transforming the textile and fashion industry in the direction of sustainable development.
The main goals of the event are empowering youth through technology, namely, providing the next generation with the tools and knowledge to implement sustainable solutions; promoting sustainable development: exploring the relationship between technology and sustainability, with an emphasis on practical applications; fostering innovation and collaboration: encouraging dialogue between different stakeholders to support youth initiatives aimed at an environmentally sustainable future.
The participants in the discussion were public figures, government officials, researchers, businessmen and textile designers. Among the key speakers of the conference were:
