KNUTD is a powerful scientific school that has a long history and adheres to the principle that qualified personnel are most effectively trained by university departments, which ensures the transfer of knowledge from the older generation of experienced scientists to the younger generation. The International Institute of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies (IIPDS) of KNUTD has about 400 postgraduate students, including foreigners. Dissertation defenses are constantly taking place, the educational component of graduate students' training is provided, there is effective communication between the guarantors of educational and scientific programs, academic supervisors, graduate students, and the management of MIAD.
On October 3, 2024, a seminar was held in an online format for scientific supervisors of graduate students who are being trained at KNUTD in the specialty 022 Design of the field of knowledge 02 Culture and Art on the topic "Rules of preparation, design and procedure for defending a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy."
The moderators of the seminar were Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Svitlana Arabuli, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Director of the International Institute of Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies.
The seminar was attended by Tetiana Krotova, Doctor of Art History, professor, guarantor of ESP «Design» of the third (doctor of philosophy) level of higher education, heads of departments of the faculty of design Nataliia Chuprina, Ruslana Bezuhla, Olena Vasylieva, Danylo Kosenko, scientific supervisors of graduate students Ruslana Khinevych, Olena Kolosnichenko, Olena Gerasymenko, Olga Yezhova, Tetiana Bulgakova and others.
Svitlana Arabuli, director of IIPDS, told the scientists present at the seminar about the stages of preparation of the PhD thesis and organizational issues of preparing for the defense, about the procedure for the defense of graduate students, requirements for members of the specialized board.
Kalyna Pashkevych, dean of the Faculty of Design, spoke about the requirements for the design of PhD thesis, the structure of dissertations for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Art History, the rules for the design of applications and the list of literature.
Tetiana Krotova, guarantor of the ESP "Design", familiarized those present with the requirements for publications for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and the list of scientific journals of category B of Ukraine, which are recommended for graduate students of the specialty 022 Design.
The presented at the seminar scientists discussed the topics of the graduate students' works, identified promising topics in the field of design for scientific research.
