The Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business has a good tradition of introducing first-year students to the history and traditions of KNUTD. This year, members of the scientific student group "Tourist Local Studies" (scientific supervisor, associate professor Larisa Semenyuk) Adrian Benzar, Inna Kopus, Lilia Zhukovska conducted for first-year students, members of the scientific student group "Cross-cultural management and business communication skills in the field of hospitality" (scientific supervisor , Docent Olena Akhmetova) guided tour "KNUTD Trails" dedicated to the World Tourism Day.

Students heard interesting stories about the philosophical and artistic objects "The Tree of Inspiration in Beauty and Design" and "Know the Invisible from the Visible", the monument to Kozhumyak (a legendary hero who embodies the traditions of our university - the manufacture and design of leather products) , the museum of embroidery (where they learned about the peculiarities of Ukrainian embroidery as a talisman and saw its samples from different regions of Ukraine), the museum of Mykhailo Voronin (where they got acquainted with the life and work of the most famous Ukrainian fashion designer, a graduate of our university), the exhibition of the achievements of KNUTD (where the artistic works of their colleagues - first-year students of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design).

Also, 2nd and 3rd year club students practiced the skills of organizing an excursion route and professionally conducting an excursion. Competences acquired by students have become elements of practice-oriented education.
