On 7 October 2024, the Exhibition Centre of the KNUTD “Art Space” hosted the grand opening of the exhibition ‘FLOWER extravaganza’ by Alla Osadcha, Doctor of Philosophy in Design, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Graphic Design, member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, National Union of Artists of Ukraine, International Art Association “Come Back Alive!”
The opening ceremony was opened by the Rector of KNUTD, Ivan Gryshchenko, Professor, Doctor of Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. Ivan Mykhailovych noted that this is the 15th exhibition of creative works by talented artists, university artists, each of whom has their own technique and manner of painting. Still, all are talented, and they teach students and pass on their knowledge in addition to artistic creativity. This teaching staff of the university's creative departments enables KNUTD to combine artistic and technical components in teaching students to enter world art schools, gain international recognition and become members of high rankings.
Alla Osadcha graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the experimenta graphics workshop of Professor Mykola Kompanets and received a qualification as a graphic artist. She works in easel and book graphics and painting. Participant of international and national exhibitions, her works are in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
In 2024, Alla Mykolaivna defended her dissertation in Design under the supervision of Tetiana Krotova, a Doctor of Art History, Professor, and received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Design.
Many honoured guests attended the opening of the exhibition - Alla's friends and colleagues - famous artists, renowned scientists and public figures in the field of art and design, journalists, artists, representatives of higher education institutions and NGOs.
In his welcoming speech, Yevhen Hula, a painter, professor, Honoured Worker of Education of Ukraine, and member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, spoke about the artist's creative and educational activities. For more than 20 years, Alla Mykolaivna has been working at KNUTD in the Department of Graphic Design, passing on her knowledge and skills to the younger generation. Yevhen Petrovych sincerely thanked the Rector of the University, Ivan Gryshchenko, for organising the Art Space at KNUTD, which he called a 'temple of art'
Her colleagues from Lithuania joined in congratulating Alla Osadcha on the occasion of her solo exhibition. In a video message from Saulius Kruopis, a well-known Lithuanian artist and organiser of art plein airs on the Baltic coast, founder of the International Art Association ‘MIST’, and member of the Lithuanian Union of Artists, he expressed his support for Ukraine in difficult wartime and warm greetings to Alla Osadcha on the occasion of the exhibition opening.
Alla Mykolaivna was greeted by Ellen Orro, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, on behalf of her fellow artists who joined the International Art Association 'Come Back Alive!' during the war. Ms Ellen praised Alla Osadcha's paintings, style, and colour scheme.
The speech of Serhiy Komisarov, member of the National Union of Journalists, Honoured Journalist of Ukraine, co-founder of the International Art Association ‘Come Back Alive!’, organiser of plein airs and exhibitions, and editor-in-chief of the International News Agency UKRPRESS-INFO, was full of vitality and positive words.
Sergiy Komisarov and Serhiy Khlopov, Director of the Municipal Enterprise ‘Workshop-Museum of N.A. Vrubel’, presented the Rector of KNUTD Ivan Gryshchenko with a Certificate of Appreciation for his significant contribution to the development of contemporary fine arts and a medal ‘For Loyalty to the National Idea’. The guests of honour also awarded Alla Osadcha with a Certificate of Appreciation for her high professionalism.
The famous Ukrainian artist Maria Zhylka, who lives and works in Spain and is a member of the international artistic association' Paseo de Arte' in Seville, Spain, joined the congratulations on the opening of Alla Osadcha's solo exhibition.
The grand opening took place against the backdrop of music and dance accompaniment from the students of the KNUTD Department of Performing Arts; the performances of talented young performers fascinated with beauty and sensuality captured the hearts of those present.
The host of the event, Liudmyla Ardelian, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, a famous Ukrainian theatre and film actress, Associate Professor of the Department of Performing Arts of KNUTD, Director of the Exhibition Centre "Art Space”, thanked all those present and wished them endless knowledge of beauty and acquaintance with new talented artists at future meetings at the KNUTD Exhibition Centre "Art Space”.
The artworks presented at this vernissage, created at different times and in various techniques, represent one aspect of the talented artist's long and diverse creative activity. The exhibition features more than 25 paintings that celebrate the beauty and grandeur of our native land. At the centre of the exhibition are charming floral compositions that add freshness and beauty to the Exhibition Centre of the KNUTD “Art Space”. This bright, creative project allows connoisseurs of contemporary art to 'break away' from the complex realities of our military present and plunge into the colourful world of the artist's imagination, at least for the exhibition's duration.
The exhibition ‘’Floral Extravaganza‘’ by Alla Osadcha is open to visitors until 30 October 2024 at the Art Space exhibition centre of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design at 2 Mala Shyianovska Street, building 4. We invite everyone to attend!
