For the second time, the Faculty of Design of KNUTD participated in the largest creative event of the year - Ukrainian design and innovation week, which was held under the auspices of a global network that unites design weeks in more than 40 cities of the world.

From October 7 to 11, 2024, KNUTD hosted lectures, workshops, master classes, presentations, and the exchange of innovative and creative ideas in various fields of design. The event was announced as part of the Ukrainian design and innovation week (UDIW), so among the participants were visitors of UDIW, as well as students, postgraduate students and teachers of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD.

The teachers of the Faculty of Design of KNUTD and our partners demonstrated to the visitors of the "Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week" the wide potential of knowledge in various fields of design, because KNUTD is a world-renowned art and design school that ranks high in world rankings, is a member of the International Association for Education and Research in in the field of art and design CUMULUS, a member of the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA), a member of the "Three Seas Initiative Cultural Cooperation Network" project and other authoritative organizations in the field of design.

On October 7, 2024, the grand opening of the exhibition "Flower Extravaganza" by the artist Alla Osadcha, PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, took place.

The exhibition was opened by the rector of KNUTD Ivan Gryshchenko, Professor, Doctor of Science in Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, who emphasized that this is the 15th exhibition of creative works of talented artists, artists of the university, each of whom has his own technique, style of painting, but all talented, and in addition to artistic creativity, they teach students and pass on their knowledge.

On October 8, 2024, for visitors to UDIW, as well as students and teachers of KNUTD, Daria Kurovska and Elyzaveta Derevianko, assistants of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, held a master class "Graphic Techniques: Diatype and Dry Needle". The participants of the event got acquainted with the history of the development of graphics and printing from the XV – XVI centuries, saw examples of works and, most importantly, reproduced graphic prints on paper in practice.

On October 9, 2024, the opening of the art project "EARTH" by the artist Volodymyr Padun, assistant of the Department of Multimedia Design KNUTD, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, took place. The art project "Earth" was created by a teacher of KNUTD with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. The basis of the project consists of 12 paintings and a video installation. The opening of the art project was attended by many guests – friends, colleagues, artists, students and graduate students.

On the same day, October 9, 2024, Nataliia Chuprina, Doctor of Study of Art, Professor, Head of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of KNUTD, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Union of Designers of Ukraine held an online lecture "Fashion system of the 20th - early 21st century: project practices and factors functioning". In the course of the story, detailed illustrative material on the history of the formation of the modern fashion system was given and effective parallels were drawn between the stages of the birth of the fashion industry at the beginning of the 20th century and the directions of its development in the first quarter of the 21st century. Not only students, graduate students and teachers of KNUTD, but also our partners from various higher education institutions of Ukraine and abroad were involved in the lecture.

On October 10, 2024, the online lecture "Laws of composition in interior design" was held by Tetiana Bulgakova, Candidate of Technical Sciences, associate professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design of KNUTD, a member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine. The listeners had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the basics of a professional approach to interior design. The main compositional regularities of building a harmonious space were also considered, reinterpreted through personal design experience, with a demonstration of examples from the real practice of the lecturer.

On October 10, 2024, KNUTD invited lecturer Kateryna Chrichlow, a lecturer at Birmingham City University, a designer from Great Britain, gave an online lecture "UX/UI design in metauniverse games".

Kateryna Critchlow, lecturer at Birmingham City University, designer, member of the Royal Society of Artists FRSA (Great Britain), spoke about the basic principles of UX/UI design and the stages of interface design. The main focus of the lecture report was on practical aspects and examples of UX/UI design product development not only for game design, but also in virtual museum and exhibition environments in which game design elements are used.

On October 10, 2024, as part of Design Week, KNUTD hosted an online lecture "Photography as a design tool: creating visual history in collaboration with brands" by Artur Verkhovetskyi, a famous photographer, the author of works published by world-renowned publishers such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, ELLE, GRAZIA, Schon, Forbes, L'OFFICIEL, Cosmopolitan.

During his speech, Artur Verhovetskyi spoke about the specifics of creating advertising photo design projects, illustrating it with examples of his own work. UDIW visitors, as well as students and colleagues from Zhytomyr State Pedagogical University, Technical University of Moldova and other institutions had the opportunity to listen to the lecture.

On October 5 and 6, 2024, students and teachers of KNUTD visited the DESIGN MARKET in the Art Arsenal and the ART MARKET in the Lavra gallery.
