On October 16, 2024, an on-site practical lesson was held for the 4th-year students of the Biotechnology programme, speciality 162 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering”, of the course “General Biotechnology” on the topic “Food Biotechnology” to study the technologies of alcoholic fermentation in the production of beer, cider and other products that are the finished products of the world’s leading leader Carlsberg Group.
During the visit to the plant, the students were given a tour and familiarized with the technological processes and production schemes for beer, cider and other products.
A representative of the company provided the students with information on beer production technologies (historical view and modern capabilities), analysis of the raw material base and domestic malt producers; directions of product range development, the sequence of continuous quality control of the technological process and finished products by modern world requirements, etc.
The representatives of the company noted the high level of training of KNUTD biotechnology students, who understand fermentation technologies, know the features and sequence of certain technological stages and what actions should be taken to timely identify process deficiencies and correct them.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the company informed the students about employment opportunities, internships and training.
We sincerely hope to expand the list of KNUTD practice sites and sign an agreement with a new modern biotechnology company!
