On October 9, 2024, as part of the disciplines “Fundamentals of the Fashion Industry”,  “Fundamentals of the Graphic Design” and “Design and Presentation of Fashion Collections” within the Design Week, students of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of the educational program “Fashion Design”, “Graphic Design” of the Department of Art and Fashion Design and  Department of Graphic Design listened to a lecture by designer Alina Sorokina, dedicated to the peculiarities of the presentation of the design brand, including its corporate identity and presentational and visual component.

Alina Sorokina is a graduate of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, during the 2007-2021 years she worked as a member of Ukrainian Fashion Week, a platform that meets the world standards of prêt-a-porter shows, taking place twice a year and gathering a large number of Ukrainian and international participants.

During the meeting, the lecturer familiarized the students with the features of seasonality, announcing and choosing the locations of world and Ukrainian fashion weeks, shared her experience of communicating with buyers and journalists during fashion shows. Alina Sorokina explained the essence of different formats of presentation of designer brands: catwalk show, presentation, showroom, fashion film, digital display format. The speaker paid special attention to the analysis of catwalk and backstage photos, using specific examples to explain how a look book and line sheet are created.

Students with interest discussed with the lecturer the formats of graphic presentation of scenography, graphic and digital presentation of clothing models for professional printed and digital publications, which is one of the current areas of collaboration graphic designers and clothing designers.

At the end of the lecture, there was a discussion of the most relevant issues, which made it possible to form a deeper understanding of the essence of the fashion show as one of the most important components of the fashion industry and the presentation of clothing models and fashion collections.
