“Silvashi’s Circles” is a large-scale project of the Ukrainian House and the Ukrainian Museum of Modern Art that impresses with its depth and versatility. On five floors of the Ukrainian House, there are 170 works by 98 artists: Silvashi’s wokrs, those who were influenced by him, who influenced him, and who worked with him. The exhibition features a wide range of works, including paintings, sculpture, and installations.
On October 15, 2024, bachelor students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, under the educational programs “Design and Technology of Garments” and “Psychology”, together with their curators Svitlana Lozenko and Inna Kosyak, visited the fascinating exhibition “Silvashi’s Circles”. This event was a great opportunity for young researchers of contemporary Ukrainian art to get new ideas for creativity and raise their patriotic spirit.
Tiberiy Silvashi is a prominent Ukrainian artist and designer known for his unique works that combine tradition and modernity. His creative work is characterized by a special emphasis on the use of color, texture and form, inspiring new generations of artists.
One of the most interesting features of the exhibition is the interactive elements that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Silvashi's work. The students had an opportunity not only to observe but also to actively interact with some of the exhibits, which was a real delight.
The excursion of the 1st-year students was initiated and accompanied by curators from the student government Oleksandr Bokhan (Group BS-22) and Daria Bilotska (Group BPT-21). Oleksandr proved to be a true expert in the field of art, demonstrating a deep understanding of contemporary art trends. He acquainted the 1st-year students with the peculiarities of Tiberiy Silvashi’s work, revealed the depth of his ideas and emotions that are embedded in each exhibit, and incredibly interested in contemporary Ukrainian art.
The exhibition visitors had an interesting discussion about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach to art. The students noted how knowledge from different fields can complement each other and inspire new creative solutions. Everyone was impressed by the incredible experience of watching Tiberiy combine classical techniques with modern trends.
The art event was continued and complemented by a visit to a special installation from the organizers of UDIW (Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week) “FIND IDENTITY”, which presented Ukrainian industrial design as part of the Design Week at the Ukrainian House. The idea of the installation is to illustrate the parallel development of various trends and styles of Ukrainian design today – from folk to industrialization.
Attending two exciting performances at the Ukrainian House was an important event for the students, contributing to their national and patriotic education. This experience will undoubtedly leave a deep mark on their creative development and inspire new achievements in the world of art and fashion!
