Meetings with practicing experts and potential employers are extremely important for higher education students, as they allow them to understand the prospects of their future profession, stimulate the active acquisition of a complex of professionally oriented knowledge, abilities and skills necessary for a competitive specialist, help successfully realize themselves in the future. On the other hand, business representatives, employers and practitioners have an opportunity to get to know potential employees of their industry, therefore they take an active part in the educational process to ensure the quality of educational programs and become our partners.
On October 25, 2024, on the initiative of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion and the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies, a meeting of 3rd- and 4th-year students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion under the educational programs "Design and Technology of Garments", "Modeling, Design and Artistic Decoration of Light Industry Products" and "Fashion Industry", and 4th-year students of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies under the educational program "Mechanical Engineering" was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design., with a practitioning expert, stakeholder and long-term partner of the University, the director of corporate social responsibility, co-owner of Softorg Company Taras Prytula. The purpose of the meeting is to hold a public lecture as part of the educational process on the topic "Automation and New Technologies".
The meeting was attended by the heads and teachers of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion and the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies: Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion Prof. Natalia Ostapenko, head of the Department of Fashion Technology, Prof. Olha Haranina, head of the Department of Fashion and Style, Associate Prof. Tetyana Struminska, head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Prof. Oleksiy Volianyk, curators Associate Prof. of the Department of Fashion Technology Oksana Vodzinska, Associate Prof. of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Volodymyr Dvorzhak, senior teacher of the Department of Fashion and Style Liliya Navolska, assistant of the Department Fashion and Style Svitlana Lozovenko, assistant of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Yevhen Korobchenko.
Softorg Company is a leader in the Ukrainian market in providing a wide range of services related to the provision of sewing equipment and spare parts, repair and adjustment of machines, training of workers in the sewing industry to work on sewing equipment and its repair. The company performs comprehensive examination of the enterprise and optimization of production. The global mission of the company is the development and technological optimization of the light industry of Ukraine.
The students got acquainted with the main areas of activity of Softorg Company. In professional, partnership atmosphere, the lecturer shared his work experience in the direction of preparing the company for challenges in the sewing equipment market. In particular, he told about the company employees visiting promising fashion exhibitions in Paris, Hong Kong, etc. in order to determine new trends in the fashion industry market from the point of view of technologies and materials. Thus, the company is already preparing to provide Ukrainian enterprises with the latest equipment and promising technologies.
During the lecture, Mr. Prytula systematically highlighted the current problems regarding:
- technological process and equipment of the preparatory shop of the sewing enterprise;
- technological process and equipment of the production cutting shop;
- features of the work of the experimental workshop;
- the work of the sewing shop of the enterprise;
- organization of work in the warehouse of finished products.
As part of the preparatory workshop of the enterprise, the lecturer discussed in detail the operation of Serkon measuring and rejecting machines and the innovative artificial intelligence system for measuring and rejecting Serkon materials Fabriq Vision. The advantages of this type of equipment, features of operation and main characteristics were considered.
Within the framework of the cutting workshop of the enterprise, Taras Prytula highlighted the main advantages of computer-controlled "Serkon" automated laying and cutting complexes, and described the principles of their operation.
Examining the work of the experimental and sewing shops of the enterprise, the lecturer emphasized the issues of automating the production of assemblies and parts of sewing products. The operations of modern automated equipment for knotty processing of products in a sewing shop, semi-automatic machines for sewing labels, press equipment for product labeling, gluing of reflective tapes, semi-automatic machines for hemming the bottom of products, processing of fastener-slats, etc. were highlighted.
Special attention was paid to machines for connecting parts of products by a threadless method (welding) and equipment for sealing seams.
The speaker also talked about the systems of automated movement of semi-finished products and products in sewing shops and in the warehouse of finished products, the systems of automated production management of the companies "Hesh" and "Kanri Soft", which make it possible to replace paper document flow and automatically analyze the efficiency of the company's production processes.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendly interaction. The result of the event was a constructive dialogue in the form of "question-answer". The speaker gladly answered the questions of those present, which created an atmosphere of exchange of knowledge and experience. The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion Natalia Ostapenko and the Head of the Department of Fashion and Style Tetiana Struminska sincerely thanked Mr. Prytula for the interesting and meaningful practical information, because it is the opportunity to effectively solve practical issues that defines a true professional.
Such meetings and communication with practitioners, employers, business partners, stakeholders allow students to understand the prospects of future employment, stimulate them to acquire competencies, abilities and skills so that after graduation they can already be adapted to the work process and work in a team, develop leadership qualities and responsibility. Interaction with business partners and stakeholders, adjustment of joint efforts to train students are the main components to ensure a high-quality educational process of training specialists in the fashion industry.
Full of instructive information, the lecture in an atmosphere of ease and trust ended with loud applause, as a manifestation of respect for Mr. Prytula, as a professional, successful and sincere person!
