In October 2024, the Free PrintFest handprint and craft printing festival took place at Kultmotyv in Podil. Ulyana Balan, a senior lecturer from the Department of Digital Arts, participated in the event by conducting a linocut master class. The event attracted numerous attendees, including students under the program “Digital Arts”, who were able to immerse themselves in the world of printmaking and discover one of the classic engraving techniques.
During the master class, the participants learned the main stages of creating a linocut: from sketch preparation and working with linoleum to hand-printing on paper. Special emphasis was placed on image stylization, enabling the creation of unique and expressive works while providing participants with hands-on experience in making their own prints.
The Department’s involvement in cultural and artistic events in Kyiv contributes to the promotion of the program “Digital Arts” and showcases the strong professional expertise of its academic staff, ensuring high-quality education. Indeed, combining classic techniques with modern technologies opens new horizons for creative expression for students under the program “Digital Arts” and highlights the diversity of approaches in visual arts.
We look forward to continuing collaboration in educational and creative spheres!
