In October 2024, to celebrate Ukrainian Artist’s Day, the Department of Digital Arts held a roundtable for first-year students under the program “Digital Arts” on the theme of creating a short comic. The event, organized by Ulyana Balan, a lecturer from the Department of Digital Arts, provided invaluable experience for future professionals in visual arts.

During the roundtable, the students developed their own visual stories, following each stage of the creative process – from plot development to scripting, storyboarding, and producing a finished comic. This comprehensive approach allowed participants to gain a deeper understanding of the specifics of comic creation and experience the role of true creators of graphic narratives.

This experience is incredibly valuable for students as it combines practical skills in storytelling, visual design, and storyboarding – the key components of contemporary digital arts. Additionally, this format fosters creativity, teaches effective visual communication of ideas, and helps develop skills in teamwork as well as independent project creation, from concept to execution.

Such events are an essential part of the educational process, as they prepare students for real professional challenges and showcase the opportunities that the Department of Digital Arts offers to aspiring artists.
