On October 22, 2024, the Department of Interior and Furniture Design hosted a presentation of educational projects by third-year bachelor students of the "Environmental Design" program. The projects were completed as part of the "Environmental Design" course, supervised by Associate Professor, PhD Oleksandra Shmelova-Nesterenko, and Assistant Svitlana Ostapyk.
Throughout the semester, the students work on an interior design project for a modern bookstore. The topic and initial project data were provided by the Department’s partner, the architectural and design studio Mira Architects. The presentation included participation from Iryna Havryliuk, co-founder and head of the studio, as well as a stakeholder of the "Environmental Design" program.
The students presented their concepts and detailed bookstore interior designs, justifying their decisions on layout, furnishings, color schemes, and interior finishes. Iryna Havryliuk provided feedback on each project, highlighting the strengths of various solutions and pointing out specific areas for improvement. The students listened attentively and appreciated the constructive criticism from an industry professional.
At the conclusion of the presentations, Iryna Havryliuk praised both the creativity and professional training of the "Environmental Design" students. The authors of the top projects received invitations for practical internships at Mira Architects.
We are grateful to our stakeholders for their involvement in the training of design professionals and look forward to deepening our collaboration.
