The work of the student research group "Researcher" involves bachelors and masters studying in the specialties "Biotechnology" and "Chemical technologies and engineering". According to the plan of work in the new academic year from August 1 to October 31 under the leadership of professors of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur Andreyeva O.A. and Shcherbatiuk T.G. three meetings of the circle were held (15.08.2024, 12.09.2024, 17.10.2024), at which students learned about the role and place of science in the development of society, the training of scientific personnel at the university; considered modern problems of biotechnology related to post-genomic research methods; get acquainted with the main stages of development and achievements of the Institute of bioenergy crops and sugar beets of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, namely with resource- and energy-saving technologies of sugar beet production in order to maximize the genetic potential of the crop and a high seed reproduction rate.
On 04.10.2024 and 05.10.2024, residents of Group visited the International Exhibition Center, getting acquainted with the exhibits of two international specialized exhibitions: "EXPO SHOES-2024", where they learned about the modern range of footwear products and accessories from leading domestic and foreign manufacturers and trading companies, and "LAB EXPO-2024", where the latest laboratory and diagnostic equipment, as well as innovative consumables, were presented.
On 21.10.2024, students listened to the lecture "Plants on the sofa" by Dr. Geert Potters, professor of the Antwerp Maritime Academy (Belgium), from which they learned a lot of interesting things about the biologically active compounds of plants, their miraculous effect on our health.
On 17.10.2024, an excursion was held in the University Museum of Vyshyvanka for new first-year students of Group, during which they got acquainted with the objects of Ukrainian cultural heritage - ancient products and modern works of our artists.
During the specified period, three articles were published with the participation of Group residents: "Antioxidant properties of the drug "Fumatra" by Alina Prysedko and "Effectiveness of innovative biological technologies in wastewater treatment" by Kateryna Martyniuk in the student scientific journal "Univrsum"; "Biological wastewater treatment as a key component of the bioeconomy" by Ermak Alina in the collective monograph "Green transformation and sustainable bioeconomy". Students Dmytro Davydiuk and Oleg Kolesnyk prepared two reports and articles in English for the 10th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Systems (ICAMS 2024), which was held online on October 30-31 in Romania.
At the next meeting of the circle in November, it is planned to consider the latest trends in the development of chemical technology.
