Last week from October 22 to 29 at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) was marked by the opening of the 3rd International Student Design Competition (suit, shoes, accessories) "Digital Fashion" as part of the 94th anniversary of the university's founding. The purpose of the event was to search a creative ideas and direct the creative potential of young designers to the progressive direction of modern world fashion, developing the trends of sustainability, sustainable production, and responsible consumption. For the third year in a row, the competition is being held in wartime conditions. The event took place despite difficult times for our country and thanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Competition brought together in online format more than 100 participants, 22 jury members (leading representatives of the Ukrainian and international fashion community) from 18 countries of the world - Ukraine, Greece, Georgia, Albania, Romania, Bangladesh, Belgium, Great Britain, Italy, Bulgaria, USA , Serbia, Portugal, Germany, Chile, India, Hungary, China.
The competition was held on the initiative of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which was organized by the Department of Fashion Technologies of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion.
The Competition was officially opened by the president of the competition - Ivan Gryshchenko, rector of KNUTD, doctor of economic sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology. Ivan Mykhailovych emphasized the relevance of the "Digital Fashion" competition, the use of digital technologies for the development and sale of fashion industry products, promoting the culture of conscious consumption by producers and consumers, thereby reducing the impact of the fashion industry on environmental pollution. He noted that the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design is a world-renowned design school that has been training clothing, footwear, and accessory designers for Ukraine and many countries around the world for almost 100 years. Kyiv National University of Technology and Design is included in the TOP-100 best design universities in the world and ranks 52nd. In the world subject ranking for: "Art and Design" (QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023). In 2023, the university was qualified in the segment from 201 to 240 positions in the world, while taking the first and only place in Ukraine. Ivan Mykhailovych emphasized the relevance of the "Digital Fashion" competition.
The event was moderated by Liliia Chertenko, Ph.D, associate professor of the department of fashion technologies. The translator was Marko Lebedev, teacher of the department of smart economy.
The opening of the Competition was attended by members of the organizing committee - vice-rector Lyudmila Ganushchak-Efimenko, doctor of economic sciences, professor; Natalia Ostapenko, dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, doctor of technical sciences, professor; Olga Garanina, head of the Department of Fashion technologies and executive director of the competition, doctor of technical sciences, professor; Tetyana Struminska, head of the Department of Fashion and style, PhD, associate professor; and scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Fashion technologies: Natalia Pervaya, dr. technical sciences, professor, Antonina Babich, PhD, associate professor, Oksana Vodzinska, PhD, associate professor.

The theme of this year's "Digital Fashion" competition is "Vitality in fashion", which is devoted to a call to society about the importance of healthy fashion in the context of sustainability. The main task of this year's competition is to focus on maintaining the health of consumers of various categories of the population. Modern fashion is based on a healthy balance of three components "Body, Mind, Soul", which is implemented in the context of the global trend of sustainable fashion.
Contestants submitted many creative and uniquely talented works in realistic visualization of 3D and 2D models of clothes, shoes and bags. They were stylish, technological, aesthetic and ergonomic at the same time, and also corresponded to the principles of sustainable production.
All members of the Jury shared their warm feedback and pleasant positive impressions of the organization of the event and the high level of performance of creative works, noted that the competition works of the participants impressed them with their talent and professional approach, which indicates the talent and professional level of preparation of the participants.

According to the results of an independent rating evaluation of creative works, the members of the Jury determined the winners of the 3rd International Student Design Competition (costume, shoes, accessories) "Digital Fashion".
