Once again, the Exhibition Center of KNUTD "Artistic Space" pleased art connoisseurs with an extraordinary personal exhibition of paintings "ANTIANTHROPIC" by Swiatoslaw Podlewski, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, creative union of artists "BZ-ART".
On November 4, 2024, the artist's colleagues and friends, students and lecturers in a solemn atmosphere opened an exhibition dedicated to the philosophical question of human existence and life in a turbulent world, because in his work the artist turns to the works of philosophers and poets, using them as a source of inspiration.
The ceremonial opening of the exhibition was held by KNUTD rector Ivan Gryshchenko, professor, doctor of economic sciences, academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. In his speech, Ivan Mykhailovych talked about the artistic direction of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, which is confirmed by the university's recognition in international rankings, organizations, associations and unions. He emphasized the importance for the teacher of design disciplines of comprehensive professional training, when the artistic, design and technical components are combined, and the Exhibition Center of KNUTD "Artistic Space" is a unique platform where talented artists - teachers of the university can demonstrate their creativity.
Swiatoslaw Podlewski sincerely thanked the university rector Ivan Mykhailovych for the opportunity to hold the first personal exhibition of the young artist in Kyiv, and also thanked his friends and relatives who came to congratulate him.
In his welcoming speech, Yevhen Gula, painter, professor, honored worker of education of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, spoke about the artist's creative and educational activities.
Touching poems by the famous Ukrainian poetess Lina Kostenko were recited by Oleksandr Krotevych, artist, designer, candidate of art history, associate professor of the department of graphic design of KNUTD, member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine.
Colleagues from Denmark joined in the greeting on the occasion of the personal exhibition: Steen Andersson, a famous Danish writer, art curator and Tetiana Jørgensen, a Danish curator and lecturer at SISTERS Gallery in Viborg, Denmark.
From the representatives of the National Union of Journalists and the international art association "Return Alive!" Serhiy Komissarov, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, co-founder, organizer of plein airs and exhibitions, editor-in-chief of the International Information Agency UKRPRES-INFO, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine spoke.
Richard Van Scooter, an American collector, philanthropist and friend of the artist, joined the congratulations on the occasion of the opening of Swiatoslaw Podlewski personal exhibition.
Poetic greetings were given to the participants of the event by Yevhenia Gilenko and Sofiya Slavinska, students of the Department of Performing Arts of the KNUTD (Vitalia Kino's acting workshop, Lyudmila Ardelian, a teacher of stage language).
The host of the event Lyudmila Ardelian, Honored Artist of Ukraine, famous Ukrainian actress of theater and cinema, associate professor of the Department of Performing Arts of KNUTD thanked all those present wished for new projects, exhibitions and events in the Exhibition Center of KNUTD "Artistic Space".
During the inspection of the exhibition, Swiatoslaw Podlewski said that the works presented at the exhibition were made by him in the period 2021-2024. This is a series of paintings that was created organically as a visualization of the artist's inner critical thoughts about the world and the role of human in it. The name of the exhibition is the antithesis of the philosophical concept of the anthropic principle, where existence is as it is only due to the existence of a person. The anti-anthropic principle is an affirmation of the independence of space and existence from the presence or absence of one of the biological species.
The exhibition "ANTIANTHROPIC" by Swiatoslaw Podlewski is open to visitors until November 29, 2024, in the Exhibition Center "Artistic Space" of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design at the address of Mala Shiyanovska, 2, building 4. We invite everyone!
