PUBLIC LECTURE BY YULIIA FEDOROVA FOR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS DESIGN

October 25, 2024, in the meeting room of the KNUTD administration a public lecture “Emotional Intelligence in Entrepreneurship” by Yuliia FEDOROVA was held in a hybrid format for students majoring in 071 “Accounting and Taxation”, 072 “Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market”, 073 “Management”, 075 “Marketing”, 076 “Entrepreneurship and Trade” of the Faculty of Management and Business Design, as part of the educational component “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship”. It was also joined online by students of the specialty 076 “Entrepreneurship and Trade” of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

  

Yuliia FEDOROVA is a guest lecturer, Doctor of Philosophy, Researcher at the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, the Faculty of Management, Comenius University (Bratislava, Slovakia).

During her lecture, Yuliia Fedorova focused on the development of emotional intelligence skills, in particular: improving self-regulation – how to control emotions in different situations; increasing emotional awareness – the importance of recognizing and understanding one's own and other people's emotions for better communication; development of empathy – the ability to put oneself in the shoes of others to better understand their feelings and needs; improving interpersonal skills – the right response to the emotions of others and building harmonious relationships; increase personal effectiveness – methods of stress management and decision-making; improving leadership skills – how emotional intelligence helps to motivate a team, deal with conflicts and create a positive atmosphere in the team.

  

In general, the lecture contributed to a better understanding of emotional intelligence, allowing students to better understand themselves and others, and positively affects the effectiveness of their interactions in both professional and personal spheres. This, in turn, will contribute to the development of leadership skills, the ability to manage conflicts, adapt to change, and communicate effectively.

 

At the end of the lecture, Yuliia Fedorova invited everyone to take the “Detailed Emotional Intelligence Test” and explained that the test results would help better understand one’s emotional intelligence – both strengths and areas that need improvement. This can have a positive impact on the relationships with others and effectiveness in the personal and professional life.

The students and lecturers of the Faculty of Management and Business Design really enjoyed Yuliia Fedorova's lecture. It provoked a lively discussion, and there were many interesting questions to which the audience received meaningful answers. In conclusion, the students and teachers sincerely thanked Ms. Fedorova for an extremely interesting and informative lecture, expressing their hope for new meetings.
