RESULTS OF THE VIII INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "MECHATRONIC SYSTEMS: INNOVATIONS AND ENGINEERING" - "MSIE-2024"

On November 7, 2024, on the eve of World Science Day, the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Mechatronic Systems: Innovations and Engineering" - "MSIE-2024" was held at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design on the basis of the Faculty of Mechatronics and computer technologies in a mixed format. The organizers of the conference were the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The organizers of the conference ensured a high level of the event and prepared a rich program with interesting reports and discussion panels in the field of mechatronics.

The purpose of the conference was to popularize the scientific achievements of domestic science, exchange experience with representatives of production, related higher education institutions, scientific organizations of Ukraine and abroad, discuss with the scientific community the ways and perspectives of the development of scientific research and with stakeholders of the educational programs of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies.

The topic of the conference covered three sections:

1. Innovations and engineering of mechatronic, electrotechnical and electromechanical systems.

2. Information and computer-integrated technologies.

3. Ensuring the quality of education in the conditions of digitalization of society

The event gathered more than 160 participants, including 10 countries of the world, including Great Britain, USA, Ireland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Taiwan, Poland, Sweden, Turkey, Egypt.

Representatives of Ukrainian institutions of higher education took part in the conference: Khmelnytskyi National University, Kherson National Technical University, International Scientific and Technical University named after Academician Yuriy Bugaya, Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy, Kremenchug National University named after Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi, Kryvyi Rih National University.

The conference was opened by the moderator of the conference, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor - Borys Mykolayovych ZLOTENKO.

The Rector of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology - Ivan Mykhailovych Hryshchenko, officially opened the conference with a welcome speech. In his speech, Ivan Mykhailovych noted that the subject of the conference covers modern engineering scientific directions and specialties. Thanks to modern technologies and progress in the engineering field, significant changes are taking place in the life of society. Therefore, our university pays considerable attention to the training of engineering personnel who will rebuild our country in the post-war period.

Ivan Mykhailovych HRYSCHENKO gave an example of the fact that engineering innovations open the way to economic growth, telling the story of the success of the American engineer Isaac Singer, who created the legendary sewing machine and the business model for its production and sale, which became a significant impetus for the transition from decline to the development of the US industry. In the conditions of war, we pay special attention to the training of personnel capable of making innovations in production and technologies that can change Ukraine and put it on a par with the most developed countries in the world. To do this, we closely cooperate with manufacturers, stakeholders, partners who produce the products the country needs, and invite them to conduct classes with our students. Ivan Mykhailovych HRYSCHENKO expressed confidence that many interesting topics, speeches, new opinions, ideas will be discussed during the conference, and he wished everyone a constructive conference, a peaceful sky and an early victory.

The Chairman of the Academic Council of Khmelnytskyi National University, PhD, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology Mykola Yehorovych SKIBA emphasized the importance of the development of engineering and computer technologies and cooperation between institutions of higher education.

Rector of Kherson National Technical University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Laureate of the National Prize of Ukraine named after Boris Paton - Olena Valeryivna CHEPELYUK emphasized cooperation between institutions in the field of science and technology and wished the conference an interesting and fruitful work.

Rector of the International Scientific and Technical University named after academician Yuriy Bugaya, doctor of economics, professor - Veronika Yuriivna KHUDOLEY emphasized the importance of training specialists with interdisciplinary thinking, in combination with digital technologies and new approaches to modern education.

International expert in the field of artificial intelligence Gerard MCNULTY emphasized the importance of mechatronics as a technology at the intersection of mechanical, electrical and computer sciences, where innovation continuously sets records and knows no limits. The synergy between mechatronics and artificial intelligence opens up a new world of opportunities for increasing the productivity and energy efficiency of autonomous systems in many areas of human activity.

Dr David GRAHAM gave an opening speech on behalf of Sheffield Hallam University. He noted that technological progress is the key to the economy and development of the nation, the search for new approaches, research, and new ideas in the application of technology to move forward. Therefore, the application of technological advances to support humanity is the basis of progress.

Deputy director of the Ukrainian Engineering and Pedagogical Academy, Kharkiv National University named after V.N. Karazina, Ph.D., professor - Oleksandr Volodymyrovych KUPRIYANOV emphasized the long-term cooperation between institutions in terms of scientific research, held conferences of various levels, discussions of educational programs and cooperation.

Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies of Kremenchug National University named after Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor - Oleksiy Petrovych CHORNIY drew attention to the fact that our universities are united by many years of joint work and common scientific interests. The development of such branches of technology as mechatronics, electromechanics and electrical engineering, information and computer-integrated technologies and education is an urgent issue that will allow effective training of future specialists.

Manager of educational programs, SoftServe - Yevgeny Yevgeniyovych UDOVYCHENKO emphasized the important mission of supporting universities of Ukraine, fruitful cooperation with KNUTD, joining the review of educational programs and providing recommendations for their improvement, in particular, the "Software Engineering" and "IT Project Management" programs. improving the qualifications of teachers in the development of the IT industry, conducting trainings and lectures by leading specialists in the IT industry.

Director of the Department of Development and Support of Digital Technologies of the Moscow State University, stakeholder of educational programs of the Department of Information and Computer Technologies - Oleksandr Petrovych MAZUR emphasized the importance of discussing issues of digital technologies that shape the future today, the cooperation of the Department of Development and Support of Digital Technologies of Moscow State University with KNUTD, the special importance of mechatronics and innovative approaches to engineering. As a manager, I am convinced that only by combining the efforts of science, business and production can a real breakthrough be achieved in the development of digital technologies that make people's lives easier, safer and more convenient.

Conference participants represented various fields of activity: from science to industry. They exchanged their research and interesting ideas, shared new approaches to developments in the field of mechatronics.

Director of LLC "Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Certification" Chief Auditor of the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine - Roman Oleksandrovych MYKHALKO shared the features of the National Agency's activities, the capabilities of modern testing laboratories, emphasized the availability of an active training center to which higher education graduates of KNUTD are involved for industrial practice with the possibility of further employment after its successful completion.

The coordinator of educational projects of the Kharkiv IT Cluster - Maria Oleksandrivna RUDYNSKA emphasized the role of the Kharkiv IT Cluster in the development of the synergy of education and business, the career path of an IT specialist and the signing of the Memorandum on partnership and cooperation with KNUTD.

During the plenary session, interesting research was shared by Valery Kostyantynovich TITYUK, Dr, professor, professor of the Department of Electromechanics of the Kryvyi Rih National University, who outlined the ways of developing mechatronic systems in the mining industry. The plenary report revealed theoretical approaches to the use of artificial intelligence in the development of decision-making systems to increase the efficiency of the technological operations of the excavator due to the improvement of the control system.

Ilya Oleksandrovych BACHURIN – Co-founder Product IT Foundation for education, social psychologist, training methodologist and trainer for more than 50 companies in Ukraine and the world, incl. of Fortune 500 companies, Ukraine talked about the new roles and tools of the teacher in the era of AI.

Oleksandr VASILEVSKYI - Doctor of Engineering Science, prof., Senior Researcher of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Texas at Austin spoke about adaptive intelligent control of metal powder melting through transfer learning.

Moldex3D EMEA Regional Manager Larry REN spoke about using the software to create digital duplicates of injection molding processes. Processing of polymer materials is widely used in modern production to meet the needs of a wide range of consumers. Therefore, the use of such software products as Moldex3D is necessary for the training of specialists in the field of mechatronics capable of solving production issues at a modern level.

Also, graduate students Andriy Viktorovych Yeriy (KhNU) shared their interesting scientific achievements - on the development of a universal classification of light industry waste for the construction of algorithms for the work of sorting plants; Bohdan Vitaliyovych NAUMENKO (KNUTD) on the development of software for generating rational schemes for cutting rolled materials; Dmytro Mykolayovych BEZUGLYY (KNUTD) - about the technological aspects of manufacturing composite preforms using sewing technologies.

Summarizing the conference, Boris Mykolayovych ZLOTENKO thanked all the participants for their significant contribution to the development of science and technology. He emphasized that the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "Mechatronic Systems: Innovations and Engineering" - "MSIE-2024" is marked by a high scientific and organizational level and is an important platform for exchanging ideas and expanding cooperation in the field of mechatronics, information and computer integrated technologies. The topics discussed at the conference open up new opportunities for the development of this scientific field.
