On October 22, 2024, the students of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies of KNUTD, studying under the educational programs “Nano- and microtechnologies in design”, “Computer systems and networks”, “System analysis and control” and “Electromechanics”, visited Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University.
This university is a long-standing and reliable partner of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. It serves as an example of indomitability and endurance: since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the institution has been relocated twice. Thanks to the support of the USAID project “Economic Support of Ukraine”, three engineering laboratories were equipped at the university, in particular the FabLab digital prototyping laboratory. The main goal of these laboratories is not only the training of modern professionals, but also the promotion of engineering specialties among young people.
As part of the tour, KNUTD students visited the FabLab laboratory, where they got acquainted with the methods of using a 3D printer and the features of working with a laser cutter and electric stands. The teachers and students received useful information about the organization and participation in scientific and educational international projects based on the example of USAID “Economic Support of Ukraine”. They were also shown the laboratory of electric machines, which is part of the educational infrastructure of the university.
The tour was conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Serhiy Kudriavtsev and the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering Inna Melkonova. Thanks to getting to know the equipment and capabilities of the laboratories, the students gained valuable practical experience and inspiration for continuing their professional activities aimed at the development and reconstruction of Ukraine.
