On November 13-14, 2024, the scientific conference "Art Research and Art as Research" was held at Lviv National Academy of Arts (LNAA). It united a professional community of art critics, cultural experts, art curators and managers, designers from various scientific and creative institutions of Ukraine and the world.
Within the framework of the Conference, 6 panel discussions were held, in particular on the development of new standards of higher education in the specialties "Decorative Art, Crafts", "Fine Art, Restoration", "Design", as well as discussions on the topic: "Research ethics and scientific review: how to avoid traps of fake editions?" and "Drawing and painting in the system of modern art education".

The following took part in the discussions: Olha Rossoshanska, acting Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education, Tetyana Kolos, Head of the Art Education Department of the Department of State Policy Formation in Arts, Art Education and Creative Industries of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, Vasyl Kosiv, Doctor of Art Studies, Professor, Rector of the National Academy of Sciences, as well as rectors of academies from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Uzhhorod, teachers of the National Academy of Sciences, undergraduate and graduate students. The Faculty of Design of KNUTD was represented by Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design.
Ulyana Furiv, manager of the UAx platform from ELIA, congratulated the Conference participants on behalf of foreign partners.
The Conference became a platform for discussing the role of art institutions in the development of new standards, the formation of art education policies, and the adaptation of educational programs in 02 Culture and Art to new challenges.
There were sectional meetings "Education in art and design: theory and practice", "Preservation and promotion of cultural heritage and restoration", "Design: theory and modern practices", "History of art and culture: personalities", "Theory of art", "History of arts and culture: sacred art", "Humanities". Olesya Skaskiv, a post-graduate student of KNUTD, studying under the ESP "Design", spoke at the sectional meeting.

As part of the Conference, the presentation of the monograph "Labyrinths of Creativity" by Orest Holubets, Doctor of Art Studies, Professor (LNAA) and the album edition "Ihor Stefyuk. A philosopher of plastic form", as well as a tour of the Academy and a visit to the Jam Factory Art Center.
