Currently, the Department of Biotechnology, Leather, and Fur is actively developing its cooperation with the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), which began in 2023. Last year, students majoring in 162 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering” joined the testing of the results of the project “Digital Laboratories for Students at Risk” developed by the Ruhr University.

In November 2024, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was invited to participate in a joint project with the Ruhr University Bochum “DigiLabStar III”, which is part of the program “Ukraine Digital: Ensuring academic success in times of crisis (2024)” program funded by the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD.

The international project involves the creation of a holistic game course for biological disciplines using the latest digital technologies for further implementation in Ukrainian universities. It also involves familiarising Ukrainian teachers with digital gamification tools. The project will coordinate the efforts of seven Ukrainian higher education institutions.

On November 8, 2024, the teachers of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur attended a series of workshops, the first of which was on creating initial interactive content using H5P on Moodle.
