PREMIERE OF THE FILM “BUCHA” FEATURING VYACHESLAV DOVZHENKO, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PERFORMING ARTS AND CULTURE

We are proud to announce the premiere of the war drama “Bucha”, with one of the leading roles performed by Vyacheslav Dovzhenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture at KNUTD, and Honoured Artist of Ukraine.

Vyacheslav Dovzhenko shares his acting expertise with third-year students majoring in 026 “Performing Arts” in his creative workshop. He serves as a role model for students, successfully combining his career in theater and film with teaching. His role in “Bucha” demonstrates the power of art to deliver crucial messages to society through the screen.

The war drama “Bucha” is based on real events and tells the story of a Kazakh citizen who found himself in the midst of the tragic events in Ukraine. The screenplay was written by Oleksandr Shchur, who also produced the film. Directed by Stanislav Tiunov, this marks his debut on the big screen.

The creative team aimed to make the film realistic while avoiding scenes that might retraumatize Ukrainian audiences. A special emphasis was placed on human values, courage, and self-sacrifice.

The film was premiered in the USA and included a special screening in Bucha for people rescued by the prototype of the main character, Kostiantyn Gudaukas.

This premiere is not only a reason for pride but also an important source of inspiration for students of the “Acting and Producing” program. It is a reminder to all of us that good triumphs over evil, and we will surely win!

We invite everyone to watch “Bucha”, which was released on November 7th. The film captivates audiences with the incredible acting skills of Vyacheslav Dovzhenko and other talented Ukrainian actors. The main cast also includes Cezary Łukaszewicz, Anastasia Nesterenko, Artemii Yehorov, Oleksandr Pecherytsia, and others.
