UNIVERSITY TEACHERS ARE INSPIRED BY THE PRESENTATION OF MODERN SEWING EQUIPMENT BY SOFTORG

Softorg company, a stakeholder and long-term partner of the University, a Ukrainian global technology accelerator, is once again implementing new initiatives to develop the light industry in Ukraine, realizing its own mission.

On November 22, 2024, a presentation of innovative models of “Jack” sewing equipment was held for the first time in Softorg’s cozy showroom in Kyiv. Ivan Skorokhodov, Corporate Social Responsibility Director of the company, warmly welcomed the University representatives and discussed the importance of innovative technologies in the fashion industry.

The members of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, as well as the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technologies of the University, were pleased to join this significant event. Among the guests were Natalia Ostapenko, Dean of the Faculty, Oleksii Volianyk, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Olha Haranina, Head of the Department of Fashion Technology, Oleksandr Manoilenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Alla Rubanka, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style, Volodymyr Dvorzhak, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Yevhen Korobchenko, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Before the presentation, the audience had the opportunity to get acquainted in detail with the powerful fleet of sewing equipment presented at the service center and ask questions, which were answered professionally and thoroughly by Ihor Shreider, chief engineer of the service center.

Stanislav Porub, Head of the company’s network, opened the meeting by reminding the audience about the company’s activities, successful initiatives and announced new models of modern sewing equipment “Jack”.

The main part of the event was devoted to detailed coverage of the main characteristics of the A5E-A “Jack” universal machine, the C7-4-M03/333 “Jack” special purpose sweeper, the M5-F11AFF13F25-X “Jack” semi-automatic machine and other equipment. Ihor Anatolievych presented the material in a systematic and professional manner and answered questions thoroughly. All those present listened with interest and had an exclusive opportunity to see the machines in operation. He started with a lockstitch sewing machine, adapted to different types of fabrics. The next step was the presentation of a high-speed 4-thread overlock with a smart feed system.

At the end, the operation of the M5-F11AF13F25-X “Jack” semi-automatic machine, which connects the parts of the knots along the contour, was demonstrated. For example, the invited guests saw the processing of a placket, the covering of a top collar with a bottom collar, the setting of a patch pocket on the main part, etc. with the help of various templates. All those present were pleasantly surprised by the voice guidance of the machine in Ukrainian and the convenient navigation of modern sewing equipment.

At the event, the teachers of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion met with Olesia Kalinych, a 2001 graduate of KNUTD, the chief technologist of the Softorg project, and talked with pleasure, including on professional topics. We also warmly greeted the present colleagues from other institutions.

All visitors received gifts from Jack and Softorg.

We express our sincere gratitude to Softorg company for the invitation, professional and informative event, professional development, warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Such meetings develop and stimulate professional growth and are important.
