Since 2015, “Biopharma” has been actively cooperating with the University. It is a stakeholder in the educational programmes of the specialty 162 “Biotechnology and Bioengineering”, providing practical training for applicants of all levels of education, supporting educational and scientific projects, and much more.
Not stopping there, in early December 2024, new prospects for cooperation and development of the University with “Biopharma” were outlined.
The President of “Biopharma”, Kostiantyn Yefimenko, and First Deputy Serhii Kovalchuk visited the University on St. Nicholas Day, 6 December.
At the beginning of the meeting, Rector Ivan GRYSHCHENKO spoke about the University’s current situation and priority areas of development, emphasising the importance of students receiving education in classrooms with in-depth practical training and the need for constant modernisation of the material base to be a popular institution among young people.
These ideas aligned with the position of Kostiantyn Yefimenko and “Biopharma” regarding education in Ukraine. After all, “Biopharma” and Kostiantyn Yefimenko personally have launched many successful educational projects and continue to implement their plans to promote biology, chemistry, and physics. To do this, they chose a path that is not typical for business – to independently create Bioschools, and classrooms, provide highly qualified teachers to train young people in natural sciences, invest in modern textbooks, school science, etc.
Small steps lead to big things. Indeed, the first steps were accompanied by the Head of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies, Tetiana Derkach, the guests made their way around the laboratories of the Faculty’s departments.
The personnel of the Department of Biotechnology, Leather and Fur and its Head Olena Mokrousova demonstrated the training and research laboratories, material and technical facilities, achievements of the Department’s scientific schools, and the work of the student scientific club. The research projects in the international scientific programmes Horizon Europe and NATO Science for Peace and Security, implemented and led by the Department’s academic staff in the fields of pharmaceutical, eco-, industrial and agrobiotechnology, aroused considerable interest.
Head of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Conservation Viktoria Plavan introduced the guests to the educational and research laboratory of the Newest Materials and Processes in Electrochemical Energy. Thanks to participation in the international scientific programmes Horizon Europe and NATO Science for Peace and Security, and thanks to the constant help and support of the University, the laboratory is equipped with unique scientific equipment that allows for extensive materials science research in chemical technology at a high scientific level.
The Head of the Faculty, Tetiana Derkach, and the Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy, Volodymyr Bessarabov, demonstrated the laboratories and presented the research areas implemented by the scientists and young people of the Department.
Kostiantyn Yefimenko, President of “Biopharma”, paid considerable attention and time to the meeting, did not miss a single laboratory of the Faculty, learned about the areas of research and teaching of the Faculty, and offered ideas for further cooperation.
It was nice to hear the guests’ feedback on the level of education at the University, innovative approaches, applied nature of research projects, involvement of young people in scientific activities and understanding of career guidance to promote important areas and specialities.
The meeting was productive, powerful and optimistic.
The University is grateful to “Biopharma” and personally to Kostiantyn Yefimenko for social educational projects, modern ideas and support for young people in mastering the natural sciences and applied knowledge.
We support successful ideas and cooperation results!
