On December 18, 2024, an extended meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Design was held, where the results of the work of the departments and the faculty in 2024 were summarized, the implementation of the faculty's target indicators was discussed, and the main work vectors for 2025 were determined.
Kalyna Pashkevych, dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor reported on the results of the faculty's activities in 2024.
With the support of Ivan Gryshchenko, rector at the University, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in 2024 the Faculty of Design became a member of the "Three Seas Initiative Cultural Cooperation Network (3SICCN)" - a consortium of scientific and educational institutions, museums, galleries, universities of art and design direction and a member of the ELIA community - the European League of the Institutions of Art. Personal exhibitions of artists of the Faculty of Design were also held at the Exhibition Center "Art Space" of KNUTD: Vadym Abyzov, Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Alla Osadcha, PhD, Senior Lecturer; Swyatoslav Podlewskyi, PhD, Associate Professor, and the Art Project "EARTH" by Volodymyr Padun, Senior Lecturer was presented.
Dean Kalyna Pashkevych told about the implementation of research works by scientists of the faculty within the framework of international scientific and educational projects with colleagues from Romania, Portugal, Greece, Germany, Moldova, Great Britain, Italy, and also thanked the staff of the faculty for coordinated, productive work and outlined the main directions of development of the faculty in 2025 for effective training of education seekers, implementation of scientific, methodical and educational activities at a high level.
The head of the department of Art and Fashion Design Nataliia Chuprina, Doctor of Art History, Professor noted the increase in the share of higher education graduates and scientific and pedagogical workers, who participated in international academic mobility programs in 2024, in particular, in the joint international project of online academic student mobility COIL "Fashion for a Good Life" with partners from USA and Saudi Arabia.
Ruslana Bezuhla, head of the department of Graphic Design, Doctor of Art History, Professor spoke about the joint project of KNUTD and NC "Yang Academy of Sciences of Ukraine" implemented in 2024 regarding the preservation of cultural heritage - Hutsul ornaments, as well as the fruitful work of faculty teachers in training students and graduate students at Qilu University of Technology and Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (PRC).
Danylo Kosenko, head of the department of Interior and Furniture Design, Candidate of Art Studies, Associate Professor, noted a significant increase in the number of indexed publications by lecturers and graduate students of the faculty in publications that are indexed in the scientometric database Scopus, as well as in category B Ukrainian journals, in particular, in the scientific journal of KNUTD Art&Design.
Olena Vasylieva, Head of the Department of Multimedia Design, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor spoke about the faculty's participation in the KYIV DESIGN WEEK festival, Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week in 2024, as well as numerous open lectures, master classes, and workshops of faculty teachers and visiting professors from Great Britain, Moldova, USA and other countries around the world.
The members of the team of faculty of design in a friendly atmosphere congratulated each other on the coming New Year and Merry Christmas, expressed their gratitude to the Ukrainian soldiers who courageously defend the independence and freedom of our country.
