In the anniversary year of the Lviv Vocational College of the Fashion Industry KNUTD – the center of fashion design and modern fashion school – the XII All-Ukrainian project “Battle of Fashion Designers – 2024” was held.
On November 22, 2024, the Final of the project “Battle of Fashion Designers-2024” took place within the framework of the Project of socio-business communication “Woman of the new generation” – “Recovery – the phenomenon of indomitability”, organized by the NGO “Union of Women of Lviv Region”. It was during these days that the college celebrated 80 years since its foundation! The all-Ukrainian project "Battle of Fashion Designers" was founded as a competition by the Lviv Professional College of the Fashion Industry KNUTD and PJSC "Gal-EXPO" with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the Lviv City Council, and the NGO "Union of Women of Lviv Region". The general partner is the company "Welltex-Ukraine" LLC (branch of "Welltex-Lviv".
This project is one of the strategic vectors of social partnership, presenting in action a model of synergy of education, science and business, aimed at improving the professional and creative level of future specialists in the fashion industry, popularizing modern fashion trends and exchanging the experience of stylists and designers from different regions of Ukraine.
The competition among stakeholders and jury representatives included such well-known artists in the fashion industry as Zoryana Semenyuk - President of the Ukrainian Fashion Association, founder of the Ukrainian Fashion Industry Awards, organizer of Odessa Fashion Week and Lviv Fashion Day, editor-in-chief of Ukrainian Fashion magazine, producer of Odessa Fashion and Fashion Star TV, as well as co-owner of the Akel clothing brand; Golda Vynohradska - President of the "National Industry Partnership in Light Industry of Ukraine "FASHION GLOBUS URAINE", author and manager of the project "Excursion in Ukraine by podium”; Olena Guseva – owner of the MILIGUS tactical clothing brand, co-owner and director of the Lviv Innovative School of Tailoring, is among the TOP-50 women of Ukraine in the “Face of Faith” nomination of 2023 according to Marie Claire magazine; Andriy Moskin and Andreas Bilous – Ukrainian designers and founders of the menswear brand “Andreas Moskin”, participants of “London Fashion Week” and “Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week”, editors-in-chief of the fashion gloss “Ican”, currently lead their expert column in “Playboy” and Focus, teach the “Men Education course”, “Entrepreneur Style” and “How a fashion brand is built”, mentors of the famous educational platforms “Big Money University” and “Projector Institute”; Natalia Yarysh is the founder and CEO of the Ukrainian embroidered clothing brand SVARGA, an entrepreneur who, through her own business, embodies the philosophy of conscious fashion, based on Ukrainian culture, family memory, and national identity; Natalia Koshelya is the founder of the Ukrainian women's underwear brand Oshe Lingerie (2014), an honorary member of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, winner of the Pisa Fashion Day competition in Italy, partner and chief costume designer for the TV series "Age Difference" (1+1).
This year, the competition accepted works in the nominations "Ethno Style" and "Fashionable Image", in which 38 collections from different cities of Ukraine were presented: Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Kyiv, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Sumy, Sheptytskyi, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lutsk, Dnipro, Bila Tserkva, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Kalynivka, Vinnytsia region, Odessa.
The ideological inspirer of the All-Ukrainian Project of Young Fashion Designers, the initiator of the competition, the deputy director for humanitarian education and educational work of the Lviv Professional College of the Fashion Industry KNUTD Oksana Khodan, having given life to the beauty and art competition, with her crazy creative energy inspires talented youth to new projects in an active tandem with Ms. Dana Mehedova, the head of the NGO "Union of Women of Lviv Region".
The final of the competition was visited by the vice-rector for scientific and international activities, Professor Lyudmila Hanushchak-Efimenko, who, on behalf of the rector of the university, thanked the teachers and professionals of their work for their fruitful work and the art of inspiring young designers, college students and creating new collections in the fashion industry.
