DEFENCE OF QUALIFICATION WORKS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF FASHION AND STYLE

On November 26, 28 and December 3, 2024, the Department of Fashion and Style held meetings of the examination commissions for the defense of qualification works (projects) of full-time and part-time master students majoring in 182 “Light Industry Technologies” under the educational and professional program “Modelling, Design and Artistic Decoration of Light Industry Products”.

On December 4, 2024, a meeting of the examination committee of the educational and professional program “Design and Technology of Garments” was held.

During the defense, the students adequately presented the results of their research, which covered several topical issues in the clothing industry and innovative approaches to their solution, including the introduction of modern computer technologies, issues of product quality assurance at all stages of its life cycle, etc.

The work of the examination committees of both educational and professional programs for the public defense of qualification works (projects) was headed by Lyudmyla Ivanova, Director of DANA-MODA LLC, a member of the educational investment and technology cluster of light industry in Kyiv, winner of the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine, a long-time friend and partner of KNUTD.

The examination committee of the educational program “Modelling, Design and Artistic Decoration of Light Industry Products” included Maryna Kolosnichenko, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Tetiana Struminska, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Fashion and Style; Alla Rubanka, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style (guarantor of the educational program). The public defense was also attended by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion Natalia Ostapenko, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Tetiana Lutsker, and PhD, Senior Lecturers of the Department Liliia Navolska and Tetiana Remenieva.

 

 

Education seekers presented their qualification works on topical issues related to improving clothing design for military personnel, including women. The students presented their collections in the contemporary Ukrainian style, decorated with embroidery of various types and materials; the results of creative inspirations embodied in bright and original images; interesting and original solutions for transformer costumes; modern images using reflective materials to improve consumer safety in the dark, etc.

 

  

The examination committee of the educational and professional program “Design and Technology of Garments” included Professor of the Department of Fashion and Style Liudmyla Zubkova, Associate Professors of the Department Arsenii Arabuli and Larysa Bilotska, and Secretary of the examination committee Svitlana Lozenko.  

 

Qualification projects and works was devoted to the design of systems of women's bras and the technological process of their manufacture; to solving the problem of creating men's and women's military clothing with adaptive properties for use in various conditions of the combat environment; to the improvement of the technological process of manufacturing interior trim for sports car models in the conditions of industrial production of Bader Ukraine LLC; to improving technological processes for manufacturing garments of various assortments and purposes. Education seekers showed creative abilities in developing their collections, combining aesthetics, functionality, and innovation.

 

 

 

Despite the difficult conditions of martial law, the higher education students, under the guidance of the Department of Fashion and Style academic staff, performed their qualification works at a high level. They were distinguished by the relevance of their topics, the validity and creativity of their solutions, the innovation of their designs, and the practical orientation, which provoked positive feedback, lively discussion, and interesting questions from the chairman and members of the examination commissions. The speakers gave them well-reasoned and informative answers, demonstrating their high level of professionalism.
