On January 24, 2025, a meeting between the academic staff of the Faculty of Design, KNUTD, and the Merz Akademie of the University of Applied Arts, Design and Media (Germany) was held. The organizers of the meeting were Dasha Logvynova and Uliana Furiv, managers of the UAx platform of the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA).

The meeting attendees heard information from Uliana Furiv, manager of the UAx platform, who spoke about the opportunities provided by the participation of art institutions from Ukraine in the ELIA.

During the meeting, an exchange of experience in training designers in graphic and multimedia design took place. The following participated in the discussion from the partner university: Dr. Barbara M. Eggert, president of the Merz Akademie and Joost Bottema, Professor of Visual Communication, Graphic Designer.

Professor Joost Bottema proposed making the training of multimedia and graphic designers more universal, including common educational components in educational programs. Professor Barbara M. Eggert expressed the importance of in-depth theoretical training, especially for master students.

KNUTD was presented by the heads of the departments of the Faculty of Design: Ruslana Bezuhla, Head of the Department of Graphic Design, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Natalia Chuprina, Doctor of Art History, Professor, Head of the Department of Art and Fashion Design, Guarantor of the EP "Graphic Design", Olena Vasylieva, Head of the Department of Multimedia Design, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Guarantor of the EP "Multimedia Design", Danylo Kosenko, Head of the Department of Interior and Furniture Design, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor, as well as Olena Herasymenko, Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Design.

The colleagues exchanged information on modern methodologies and trends in the training of graphic and multimedia designers at the bachelor's, master's and PhD levels, discussed the components of educational programs. Possible areas of further cooperation in the scientific and educational spheres were also discussed.
