On January 31, 2025, a meeting of the Supervisory Board of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was held. It was headed by Vasyl Kremen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the University, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Members of the Supervisory Board of KNUTD, representatives of the Educational Investment and Technology Cluster of Light Industry in Kyiv, business partners of the University, and Vice-Rectors of the University took part in the event.
The event began with a tour of the new training and research laboratories of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, where participants talked to the management of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies, heads of the departments, postgraduate students, undergraduates and researchers.
Almost 4 million earned funds have been invested by the University in the development of material and technical support for research, technical and educational activities in 2024. The training and research laboratories are provided with unique devices and equipment thanks to the international grant activities of the University and stakeholders. For example, Arterium Corporation, PrJSC “Pharmaceutical Firm DARNITSA”, Pharma START LLC, which is a part of the group of companies “Asino Holding AG” (Switzerland), and Lekhim Joint Stock Company were directly involved in the development and equipping of high-tech laboratory equipment for the Training and Research Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics and Biogerontology. In recent years, FARMAK JSC, a leader in the Ukrainian pharmaceutical industry, has been the main strategic partner. In 2024, FARMAK JSC and KNUTD signed an agreement to establish the first in Eastern Europe training and research HUB of FARMAK JSC at KNUTD “Innovative Pharmaceuticals”.
They also demonstrated the work of the University’s researchers at the Centre for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment “Additive Manufacturing Technologies” (3D printing), where materials, technologies and equipment for 3D printing are developed, as well as 3D models for various purposes, including special ones. The University’s large fleet of 3D printers was created by students, postgraduates and university professors.
The Supervisory Board of KNUTD heard the Report by the Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design Ivan Gryshchenko.
The Rector noted that this Report is the result of a great joint work of almost 11 thousand students, 1626 full-time employees of the University, including 427 academic staff members. In the conditions of a full-scale war in Ukraine, which has been going on for the third year in a row, our University, having a powerful scientific, academic and pedagogical staff, not only survived, but is developing and helping the people to resist the enemy and every day through the efforts of everyone brings our country closer to Victory!
All target indicators of the University for 2024 have been fully achieved.
Vasyl Kremen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, noted that Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is an effective and dynamically developing university in Ukraine. Its experience deserves to be shared with other higher education institutions.
During the discussion, it was noted that the role of universities and research institutions is crucial under martial law. Their developments and expert opinions lay the foundation for the formation of the military-industrial complex and strengthening the state’s defence capabilities.
The discussion was attended by Hero of Ukraine, People’s Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Palamarenko, President of the Ukrainian Technological Academy Ihor Polovnikov, President of the Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers of Ukraine Petro Bahrii, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volodarka Joint Stock Company Roman Havrysh, Chairman of the Academic Council of KhNU Mykola Skyba, directors of enterprises Valerii Rybas, Andrii Prokhorovskyi, Viktor Lishchuk, Vasyl Matiienko, and Oleh Pivovar.
Following the meeting, the Supervisory Board members unanimously approved the Report and the work of the Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design under martial law.
