FACULTY OF DESIGN PARTICIPATES IN THE OFFICIAL UN EVENT ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Faculty of Design at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) is actively engaged in international events that support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On February 5, 2025, the lecturers of the Faculty participated in the official United Nations event at the 2025 ECOSOC Partnership Forum.

The event “Artificial and Artisanal Intelligence: Synergizing for Sustainable Living”, was hosted by “Hecho por Nosotros” in collaboration with “Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs”. This high-level discussion explored how collaboration, regenerative models, and digital innovation can drive systemic change towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.

This forum aligned with the 2025 ECOSOC Partnership Forum’s overarching theme: “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals, leaving no one behind”.

Discussions were focused on the three key SDGs:

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education
  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals.

The participants explored practical solutions to transform systems through education and collaboration, promoting responsible consumption and fostering global partnerships.

The event brought together thought leaders, innovators, and industry experts committed to shaping a sustainable future. Among the distinguished speakers were:

  • Adriana Marina – Founder of “Hecho por Nosotros” and the sustainable fashion brand Animaná, with a PhD in Economics specializing in growth, inequality, and local development;
  • Radhika Shah – Co-President at Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs;
  • Jeff Cole – Researcher at the World Internet Project;
  • Andrew Eil – Climate risk and resilience consultant, currently Head of Climate Risk for North America at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS);
  • Eduard Müller – Rector at Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional;
  • Pranav Khanna – Expert in leveraging cryptocurrency for social impact;
  • Camila Tettoni – Journalist and «Hecho por Nosotros» ambassador;
  • Luis Alberto Camargo – Director of OpEPA and Ashoka Fellow.

The Faculty of Design (KNUTD) remains committed to promoting sustainable practices in education and research. Participation in this official United Nations initiatives enhances global cooperation and strengthens the University’s role in addressing contemporary challenges in sustainability and design.
