ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WITH STAKEHOLDERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS

At the end of February 2025, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a roundtable discussion, which became an important stage in the interaction with stakeholders of educational programs. The meeting, organized in a hybrid format, brought together both internal and external participants who had the opportunity to discuss key aspects of the educational programs at the three levels of higher education.

The Department’s interaction with stakeholders is a systematic process that involves establishing and maintaining a constant constructive dialogue throughout the entire cycle of educational programs. This process covers a variety of activities: from information exchange and consultations to active participation of stakeholders in the educational process.

The event was opened by the moderator, Doctor of Economics, Professor Taliat Belyalov, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business, guarantor of the educational and professional program “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Startup Project Management” of the second (master's) level of higher education. Talyat Enverovych emphasized the need for cooperation between the staff of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business and stakeholders from various sectors: employers, the scientific community, higher education students, etc. He emphasized the importance and relevance of such meetings, outlined the ways in which the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business can work together with stakeholders.

The event was opened by the moderator, Taliat Belyalov, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business, guarantor of the educational and professional program “Innovative Entrepreneurship and Management” The round table was attended by members of the working groups headed by the guarantors of such educational programs: Entrepreneurship and Commercial Activity of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education, specialty D3 “Management”; Innovative Entrepreneurship and Management of Startup Projects of the second (master's) level of higher education, specialty D3 “Management”; the EPP “Entrepreneurship, Trade and Exchange Activities” of the third (educational and scientific) level of higher education, specialty D3 “Management”, as well as the academic staff of the Department, higher education students, representatives of business and the academic community, in particular: Alla Kasych, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Management and Smart Innovations, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; Samira Piletska, Doctor of Economics, Professor, the State University “Kyiv Aviation Institute”; Victoria Chobitok, PhD, Professor, Head of the Department of Marketing and Commercial Entrepreneurship at the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy, Psychology, Management and Adult Education of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Kharkiv; as well as stakeholders of the educational programs, representatives of the Department’s business partners: Oleksandr Peresypko, Director of World Green Systems LLC; Annan Ashirov, Deputy Director of UKRUGIMPEX LLC; Amet Lumanov, General Director of OKSHINA LLC; Ruslan Alimov, Deputy General Director of FAV-KYIV LLC; Oleh Smirnov, CEO of OLDIM LLC; Remzi Eminov, Director of A-BUD LLC; Samir Gurdjie, Director of YUG-TRADING GROUP; Oleh Shvets, Director of First Independent Survey Company LLC.

The discussion focused on important aspects of the educational programs, including the purpose, uniqueness, and educational components that contribute to the formation of the necessary competencies and achievement of program learning outcomes. The participants of the discussion drew attention to how each program is designed to meet the modern requirements of the labor market, current trends in business and management, as well as the requirements of international higher education standards.

Particular attention was paid to the project of a new educational and professional program “Business Management” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education, specialty D3 “Management”, which is planned to be implemented next academic year.

The guarantor of the program “Business Management” Mariana Shkoda, Doctor of Economics, Professor, began her report with a description of the program profile, its purpose, uniqueness, competencies and results to be obtained by higher education students under this program.

She noted that this program will be relevant and competitive in the market of educational services, both during the war and during the post-war recovery of Ukraine.

During the discussion of the educational programs, representatives of the scientific community Victoria Chobitok and Samira Piletska drew attention to the importance of strengthening the educational components of the draft educational program “Business Management” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education by increasing the number of courses directly related to entrepreneurship and management. Samira Piletska's proposal to form professional areas for students through elective courses was supported by all the members of the roundtable.

Oleksandr Peresypko, Director of WOLD GREENEASYSTEMS LLC, noted that the “Business Management” program is definitely relevant and necessary, as specialists in this area are already in demand in the labor market and suggested strengthening the practical component in the educational components of the educational programs.

The colleagues shared their own experience of transitioning to the D3 specialty in Ukrainian higher education institutions and developing new educational program projects. In general, all the stakeholders supported the content of the educational programs and provided suggestions for their improvement.

 

The participants of the event emphasized the importance of close cooperation with representatives of business and the academic community to ensure the relevance and effectiveness of educational programs, as well as to create conditions in which students can maximize their potential and prepare for a successful career.

In addition, the meeting also included a discussion of important issues of graduate employment and the prospects for the development of the Department.

This meeting provided an opportunity for the working groups and their guarantors to study the opinions and suggestions of all the stakeholders regarding the competitiveness of graduates of the discussed educational programs.

In conclusion, Taliat Belyalov thanked all the participants of the roundtable for their active participation and emphasized that every suggestion and opinion will be carefully considered when developing curricula and improving educational programs. He emphasized that this process aims not only to improve the quality of training of higher education students, but also to maximize the adaptation of programs to the current requirements of the labor market and the current challenges faced by future specialists in management and entrepreneurship.
