LABORATORIES OF THE FACULTY OF CHEMICAL AND BIOPHARMACEUTICAL TECHNOLOGIES JOIN THE TRAINING OF SPECIALISTS MAJORING IN 105 “APPLIED PHYSICS AND NANOMATERIALS”

Students of the educational programme “Nano- and Microtechnologies in Design” visited the laboratories “New Materials and Processes in Electrochemical Energy” and “Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics and Biogerontology” as part of their internship.

On the first day of the visit, 26 February, Professor Volodymyr Khomenko of the Department of Chemical Technology and Resource Saving demonstrated modern equipment for the study of nanomaterials. It was proposed to cooperate between the Departments of Chemical Technology and Resource Saving and Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics for scientific cooperation with the involvement of higher education students.

On 28 February, students and lecturers of the Department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics visited the Laboratory of Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics and Biogerontology of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy. The laboratory staff acquainted the visitors with the principles of modelling nanostructured ecological systems, studying the pleiotropic effects of active pharmaceutical ingredients, modern methods of drug development and ideas for developing modern approaches to the development of APIs and medicines. An agreement was also reached on close interdepartmental cooperation.

The students and teachers of the Department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics listened to the stories with great interest and received answers to their questions. Doctor of Engineering, Associate Professor Olena Ishchenko demonstrated a new state-of-the-art compact device for electroforming nanofibres from solutions.

The students were impressed by this innovative approach to forming a nanocoating with an antibacterial effect.

We are grateful to the staff of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies for the interesting and instructive information!
