TRAINING SESSION “PSYCHOLOGY OF TODAY – HOW TO LIVE IN NEW CONDITIONS”

The psychological state and mental health during military operations is extremely important. People living on the territory of Ukraine are in a situation of high psycho-emotional tension and constant stress. And despite the fact that most citizens have already managed to adapt to the new conditions, this has a detrimental effect on the mental state. Mental health is invisible, but it needs the same support as physical health.

On February 26, 2025, at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, in the context of the National Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program, developed with the support of WHO as part of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, Olha Vavulova, Master of Psychology, practicing psychologist, held a training session “Psychology of Today – How to Live in New Conditions”.

The event was organized by the KNUTD Psychological Support Center and the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design for first-year students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, specialty C4 Psychology, the EPP “Psychology”.

The purpose of the event is to support mental health and harmonize the inner world of the participants of the educational process, develop skills of self-awareness, self-reflection and self-analysis as necessary components of psychological well-being.

During the training session, the students had an opportunity to know themselves better, learn to adapt to changes and develop skills to maintain their own psychological balance, mastered effective positive psychotherapy techniques, such as the positive reinterpretation technique, the objectification of facts technique, the “Empty Chair” technique, etc. The participants also explored their own emotions, beliefs, and reactions to external circumstances, which became the basis for consciously managing their psycho-emotional state. The exercises offered by the practicing psychologist to the students help them find internal resources, reduce anxiety and restore emotional balance.

Thanks to the practical format of the lesson, the students not only gained valuable knowledge but were able to apply it immediately, making the training as effective as possible.

We sincerely thank Olha Vavulova for her cooperation, effective tools for our own psycho-emotional support and effective future professional activity!

Everything will be Ukraine!
