STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS AND FASHION JOINED A MASTER CLASS ON MEDIA LITERACY

With the support of the Rector of KNUTD Ivan Gryshchenko, on March 3, 2025, a master class on media literacy “Media Resilience: Security in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” was held at the University. It was initiated by the Civilian Readiness Center of the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation and supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Media literacy trainer “Detector Media”, OSINT analyst Oleksandr Pyrozhkov conducted a master class in an informative and interesting way, successfully combining theoretical material with a discussion presentation. The event was attended by students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, representatives of the KNUTD Scientific and Technical Library – Head of the Department of Storage of Funds Lyudmila Krekhova, Head of the Information and Bibliographic Department Oleksandra Chepilko and Head of the Department of Fashion and Style Tetiana Struminska, Head of the Department of Fashion Technology Olha Haranina, Head of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design Alla Semenova, Associate Professors of the Department of Fashion and Style Arseniy Arabuli, Halyna Oliynyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Fashion Technology Oksana Vodzinska.

 

 

At the lecture, Oleksandr emphasized the key aspects of media literacy, which include the ability to correctly use, analyze, evaluate and transmit information, and explained why, especially today, media literacy is important. During the master class, the audience was introduced to the tools of manipulation in the media and advertising, tools for identifying and countering fakes and disinformation, using examples. The lecturer emphasized the narratives used by Russian propaganda, gave examples of manipulative propaganda tools, noting the relevance of critical thinking, emphasizing its advantages. Another aspect that the speaker revealed was the use of artificial intelligence in modern media, the pros, cons and threats of its use.

 

 

 

The master class on media literacy was held in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, sparking lively discussion and many interesting questions, to which the audience received comprehensive, meaningful answers.
