The SEAL-NR project is a joint initiative of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (Ukraine), International Balkan University (North Macedonia) – coordinator, Politechnika Warszawska (Poland), Baltijas Starptautska Akademija (Latvia), Mingachevir State University (Azerbaijan), Institute of Social and Economic Initiatives (Ukraine) and Kyiv Center for Education, Training and Youth (Ukraine).
The goal of the SEAL-NR project is to develop an international cooperation system in the field of education among universities and youth organizations from different countries by utilizing virtual exchange technologies and creating a virtual hub. The project is aimed at youth in general and migrants in particular, helping them receive informational and psychological support through an interactive online learning system. It also focuses on developing digital and soft skills for the future, increasing awareness of EU policy technologies in entrepreneurship and digital transformation. This, in turn, will help bridge the gap between modern labor market demands and educational processes, enhancing proficiency in 21st-century skills.
The SEAL-NR project uses synchronous and asynchronous virtual exchange (VE) technologies to form 21st-century skills among educators and young people. The initiative, targeting 250 tutors and 2,500 young people aged 16 to 30 from different socio-economic backgrounds in Poland, Latvia, North Macedonia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan, promotes the development of digital and communication skills, facilitates psychological adaptation to emergency situations, and stimulates entrepreneurial activity. Structured around three key components, the project offers: (1) Advanced training in VE technologies for facilitators, enhancing their ability to use digital platforms and adapt educational products for online formats; (2) Developing the skills of young people through 16 pieces of training that divide the focus between “21st Century Skills” and “Socio-psychological Adaptation”, aimed at developing critical thinking, media literacy and employability in the digital economy; (3) Establishing a European Virtual Centre for Education and Adaptation in Emergencies at KNUTD, which will serve as a central resource for online courses and continuous learning materials. Holding an International Business Ideas Competition will further stimulate innovation and practical application of the acquired skills.
In February 2025, the International Balkan University (IBU) hosted a kick-off meeting to mark the official launch of the three-year EU-funded project “Skills Enrichment for Adaptive Leadership in a New Reality” (SEAL-NR).
Together, the partners aim to equip young leaders with the skills needed to navigate today’s rapidly changing global landscape.
During the meeting, the project team highlighted that the partners’ collective expertise will be essential to advance the project’s mission and ensure the effective implementation of its key components.
