Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukrainian brands have been fighting their own battle. They strive to support the country’s economy, raise awareness of important social and cultural issues, and dedicate their collections to these causes.

On March 20, 2024, higher education students of the first (bachelor’s) level of the EPP “Professional Education (Technology of Light Industry Products)” of the Department of Professional Education in Technology and Design Bilotska Daria and Kareieva Sofia (Group BPT-21) held an educational event on “Patriotic Education through Modern Ukrainian Fashion Brands” for students of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion.

Ukrainian motifs have rapidly emerged in global fashion, transforming from a local aesthetic into a worldwide style phenomenon. Once considered part of traditional folk costumes or ethnographic heritage, they have now found new life on the runways of Paris, Milan, and New York. The global shift toward ethnic style, sustainability, and a return to authentic cultures has made these elements especially appealing. In fashion, Ukrainian motifs speak a universal language of symbols that require no words: ornaments that convey protection and well-being, colors that tell the story of the nation's history and spirit, and designs that embody the connection between generations.

Behind every embroidery, every ornament, lies a story – a story of the people, their struggle, strength, and beauty. This is what leading Ukrainian designers strive to share with the world. Their collections create a bold dialogue between past and present, blending ancient craftsmanship with avant-garde fashion technologies. They transform Ukraine’s cultural heritage into a powerful source of inspiration for new generations.
