THE FUTURE LABOR MARKET: SHAPING UKRAINE TOGETHER

On March 21, 2025, the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Labor Market Balance” took place at UNIT City. The event was organized by the Kyiv Institute of Business and Technology.

The conference brought together a unique community of scholars, government officials, business leaders, and civil society representatives to deeply explore the key challenges and opportunities of the Ukrainian labor market—particularly in the context of women’s return as a means to restore human capital and promote gender balance.

The Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was represented at the conference by Viktoriia Margasova, Director of the Research Institute of Economics at KNUTD, and Nataliia Fastovets, Director of the Center for Labor and Career at KNUTD.

This year's conference continued the dialogue initiated last year, based on the research of Nobel Laureate Claudia Goldin, and affirmed that Ukraine is not only a participant but also a trendsetter in global transformations.

The discussion focused on key issues such as: the post-war recovery of the labor market, the role of women in Ukraine’s reconstruction, legal, psychological, and financial aspects of Ukrainians returning home, and the challenges of a digitalized labor market.

Among the conference speakers were experts from the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration, SENSE Bank, Crowe Mikhailenko, SOLIDUM Law Firm, as well as prominent scholars and leaders of educational initiatives.

The Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design extends its sincere gratitude to the organizers of the Second International Scientific and Practical Conference “Labor Market Balance,” to the partners, and to all speakers for the insightful professional discussion, practical case studies, and for making the conference not only a platform for exchanging ideas but also a genuine tool for shaping the future of Ukraine’s labor market.

Special thanks for their meaningful contributions and relevant analytical insights go to: Olena Yakovlieva, Maryna Ryabokin, Veronika Khudolei, Serhii Zakharin, and Olha Harafovana.

Such initiatives are an important step toward addressing the complex challenges associated with labor market transformation, particularly during wartime and post-war periods. KNUTD actively participates in professional events at both national and international levels, integrating the outcomes into the development of educational programs, scientific research, and the systematic formation of effective employment pathways for its students.
