From March 17 to 30, 2025, Ukraine, along with the rest of the world, is celebrating the Global Money Week – an annual international educational campaign dedicated to promoting financial awareness among young people and helping them develop the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions. By tradition, for the second year in a row, the Department of Finance and Business Consulting at the Faculty of Management and Business Design has participated in educational activities aimed at raising financial awareness among young people.
On March 25, 2025, the M. Voronin Memorial Hall hosted a roundtable discussion titled “The Role of Money in Ensuring Economic Growth and Stability”, dedicated to the Global Money Week in Ukraine.
The roundtable began with a greeting from Mariana Shkoda, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design.
Kateryna Mohyla, a stakeholder of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Head of the Branch of FUIB Bank No. 24 (Kyiv), took part in the discussion of the issues, telling the students about the importance of money for economic development and introducing the basics of the functioning of the banking system of Ukraine.
Vladyslav Apatsky, a postgraduate student of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, delivered a report “Comparison of functional features of Internet banking systems in the largest banks of Ukraine”, which provoked a lively discussion among the invited guests.
The roundtable also included a competition for the best report. The following students presented their research results: Valeria Starikova (BF-1-24), Oleksandr Droga and Anatoly Yevchyk (BMN-1-24), Liubov Kunieva (MgKM-1-24), Daryna Slezkina (MgIPSP-24), Andriy Zaitsev (BF-1-21), Tamila Lapshyna and Daryna Khvoynitska (MgKM-1-24), Vladyslav Andrusyshyn (MgIPSP-24), and Iryna Kovtun (BMR-1-24).
Based on the results of the competition, a vote was held among the students and the best reports were selected.
The winners are as follows:
I place – Valeria Starikova (BF-1-24) with a report “Digital currency in the world and E-hryvnia in Ukraine”;
II place – Daryna Slezkina (MgIPSP-24) with a report “Challenges of the digital economy and prospects for the monetary system”;
III place – Oleksandr Droga, Anatoly Yevchyk (BMN-1-24) with a report “The impact of attitudes towards money on the economic behaviour of young people:;
IV place (encouragement) - Liubov Kunieva (MgKM-1-24) with a report “The impact of the speed of money circulation on economic growth”.
The results of the roundtable “The Role of Money in Ensuring Economic Growth and Stability” were summed up by the Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Tarasenko.
Valuable gifts to the winners and incentive prizes to other participants were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Business Design Mariana Shkoda, Doctor of Economics, Professor, and Head of the Department of Finance and Business Consulting Iryna Tarasenko, Doctor of Economics, Professor.
