This spring, the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and the National Conservation Area “Sophia of Kyiv” organized the third creative project designed to preserve, disseminate and multiply cultural, artistic and environmental values and achievements of society.
With the support of the rector of KNUTD Ivan GRYSHCHENKO, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the Department of Art and Fashion Design of the Faculty of Design, together with the management of the NCA “Sophia of Kyiv”, organized the exhibition “BIOFASHION. COSTUME AS A FORM OF LIFE”. The curators of the exhibition are the lecturers of the Department of Art and Fashion Design: Galyna Kokorina, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Iryna Davydenko, Associate Professor.
The exhibition is a continuation of the artistic, educational and scientific cooperation between the Kyiv National University of Technologies and the Art Museum of NCA “Sophia of Kyiv”, which was initiated quite a long time ago, but in 2020 was documented by signing a cooperation agreement.
The concept of the exhibition is related to the fact that it presents costumes-images created by students of the Educational Program “Fashion Design” of the first (bachelor's) level of higher education based on the transformation of bioforms into conceptual forms of a costume. Interestingly, students always choose sources that in some way correspond to current fashion trends. Today, these are extremely complex in form, exotic and even avant-garde bioforms.
The created images are a stage of training for bachelors - fashion designers, on the one hand, and on the other - the presented works reflect the attitude of the modern generation towards preserving the surrounding world and the sustainable development of our society.
