One of the priority areas of the Department of Professional Education in Technologies and Design (PETD) is the implementation of career guidance activities by teachers and students.
The Department of PEDT pays great attention to career guidance work with graduates of general secondary education and specialized institutions of professional higher education. Directly career guidance work in educational institutions is provided by involving 3-4 year students in events, namely in the Kyiv Professional College of Art and Service Technologies; Kyiv Professional College of Technology and Fashion Design; Specialized School of I-III Degree № 207 with in-depth study of English in Desnianskyi district of Kyiv; Kremenchuk Lyceum № 30 “Olympus” named after N.M. Shevchenko of the Kremenchuk City Council of Kremenchuk district, Poltava region; Lyceum № 176 named after Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra of Dniprovskyi district, Kyiv; Motovyliv Gymnasium of Fastiv City Council of Kyiv region; Brovary Gymnasium “Mosaic” of Kyiv region and others.
The students delivered a multimedia presentation about Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, interactively informed the audience about the opportunities, career prospects and self-realization after obtaining the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the specialty A5 “Professional Education (Technology of Light Industry Products)” and C4 “Psychology”.
The academic staff of the Department also takes part in consulting and large-scale career guidance events, such as Open Days and Career Week. A booklet has been developed, providing information about the specialties offered by the Department of Postgraduate Studies and the professional opportunities available to its graduates
An effective way to support the professional self-determination of future applicants is to provide them with information about the Department’s activities, including reports on students’ and teachers’ research, educational, artistic, and sports achievements, available on the University’s website and social media.
