Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the need for psychological support and assistance has increased significantly, as our compatriots have faced crisis events that are both unpredictable and extremely difficult to endure. The growing demand for psychological help during wartime and in the post-war period places heightened requirements on the quality of professional training for psychologists.
Therefore, the primary objective of educational practical training for future psychologists is to master contemporary methods and forms of activity organization within their chosen profession, to develop essential professional skills and competencies, and to apply practical strategies for addressing specific challenges encountered across various fields where psychological knowledge is utilized.
From February 10 to March 08, 2025, students of the educational and professional program “Psychology” underwent educational and industrial practice in preschool educational institutions and institutions of general secondary education. The bases for internships for higher education students of the first (bachelor’s) level under the educational and professional program “Psychology” are preschool educational institutions № 143, 205, 632, 731 of the Pechersk district of Kyiv, specialized school I-III degree № 207 with in-depth study of English in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, pre-school educational institution (nursery school) “Berizka” of Chornukhy Village Vouncil of Chornukhy village, Poltava region, pre-school educational institution “Zhuravlyk” of Velyka Dymerka village, Brovary district, Kyiv region, pre-school educational institution “Barvinok” of Velyka Dymerka village, Brovary district, Kyiv region, pre-school education institution (nursery school) of combined type №126 of Kyiv. The four weeks of internship were both intense and highly engaging. Throughout this period, the students familiarized themselves with the specificities of a psychologist’s work in educational institutions, learned about their functional responsibilities, and acquired essential practical knowledge, professional skills, and competencies required for the role of a practical psychologist.
