On April 10, 2025, the IV All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference “Integration of Science and Education: Development of Cultural and Creative Industries” was held at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Traditionally, the event was organized by the Educational and Scientific Institute of Culture and Creative Industries of KNUTD.
The goal of the conference was to unite the scientific, educational, and artistic communities to discuss current problems and prospects for the development of creative industries, interdisciplinary integration of knowledge, preservation of national cultural identity, and development of education in the context of global transformations and war.
The following people addressed the conference participants with words of welcome: Ivan HRYSHCHENKO — Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Rector of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, and Myroslav ZAYACHUK — Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Geography of the Yuri Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University.
The plenary session of the conference brought together reports by leading Ukrainian scientists and public figures, including: Ivan ZAYETS — public figure, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th convocations, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine (2000-2001) ; Violetta DUTCHAK — Doctor of Art History, Professor, Head of the Department of Musical Ukrainian Studies and Folk Instrumental Art (Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University); Volodymyr VASYLCHUK — Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Psychology and Tourism (Kyiv National Linguistic University); Myroslava VOVK — Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Pedagogical Education of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Content and Technologies of Pedagogical Education, Member of the UNESCO Department (Ivan Zyazyun Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Education of Ukraine); Zhanna BUCHKO — Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Geography and Tourism Management (Yurii Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University); Oksana HISA — Deputy Dean for International Cooperation, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor of the Department of Musicology and Methods of Musical Art (Volodymyr Hnatyuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University).
The highlight of the grand opening of the conference was a musical welcome. A touching artistic performance was presented to the conference participants by the People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the KNUTD Oleksandr VASYLENKO and the leading accompanist of the department Yulia MAKHOTINA. The artistic welcome became a vivid example of the synthesis of science, art and spirituality, which is so organically implemented in the educational space of the University.
The conference included a meeting of three thematic platforms: Personality in a modern multicultural environment; Art in the context of modern transformations: traditions, innovations, new forms of expression; Creative practices in tourism and the hospitality industry.
Conference participants — more than 150 representatives from all regions of Ukraine and abroad — presented reports on topical topics: acting and cultural diplomacy, modern digital art and sketching, design, choreography, gastronomic tourism, eco-innovations, the impact of artificial intelligence on artistic practices, and musical culture as a tool of resistance and national consolidation.
The conference demonstrated that it is the integration of science and education on the principles of interdisciplinarity, creativity, patriotism, and cultural identity that is the key to the sustainable development of the national humanitarian space and cultural policy.
