On April 09, 2025, the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) hosted a Career Day.  This event was a great opportunity for students to personally communicate with representatives of leading pharmaceutical and perfumery and cosmetics companies, learn about internship and practice opportunities, current vacancies, and get useful tips on employment and career development.

Due to the air alert, part of the event was held in the KNUTD shelter to ensure the safety of all participants.

The participation of representatives of both the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries in the Career Day at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy indicates the growing need for highly qualified specialists in these fields and emphasizes the important role of such events in establishing effective interaction between the educational sector and employers.

The Career Day began with a speech by representatives of Opella Healthcare Ukraine, a division of the pharmaceutical company Sanofi. The event was attended by regional development managers Maryna PARFENIUK and Tetiana BABYCH, as well as medical representative Alina TROTSENKO, who is a graduate of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD. The experts spoke about the company's activities, current innovations and its contribution to the development of new medicines. The company's representatives also informed the students about current vacancies and career prospects and shared their own tips for successful employment, elaborating on the stages of the interview, typical questions asked by employers and the basic principles of creating a high-quality and competitive resume.

Mariia ABRAMOVA, Head of the Advertising and Promotion Department, and Iryna SHAFRAN, Laboratory Assistant, spoke at the event from a Uniks private enterprise (PE) specializing in the development and production of cosmetics and household chemicals. The representatives of the company told the students about the main activities of the company, current vacancies, working conditions and prospects that open up for those who decide to start their career at Uniks PE.

The audience was particularly interested in the speech of Viacheslav DERYPAPA, a specialist in drug registration at Asino Ukraine LLC, who is one of the first graduates of the KNUTD Department of Industrial Pharmacy. With special warmth, Viacheslav shared his memories of his professional career, which began during his studies at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD. He said that he gained a significant part of important knowledge and practical skills through his work in the Educational and Research of the Molecular Pharmacology, Chemogenomics and Biogerontology Laboratory (MPCB Lab), which has been successfully operating at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD since 2016. Viacheslav emphasized that his experience as a laboratory assistant and later as a researcher in this laboratory contributed to the development of his critical thinking, analytical abilities and practical skills, which proved to be extremely important in his professional development in the field of drug registration. He noted that taking advantage of the opportunity to work in such a laboratory in his spare time is an undeniably valuable and strategically important investment in his own professional growth.

The presentation by Artem KHARCHENKO, an analytical chemist at the research center of Kyivmedpreparat JSC, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Ukraine, which is part of the Arterium Pharmaceutical Corporation, was also very informative. Artem, who until recently was a student of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy at KNUTD (class of 2023), shared his story of successful employment. He also spoke about the modern requirements for working in an analytical laboratory and noted that it was the knowledge and skills gained during his studies at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD that became the key to his career success.

During the meeting, the students of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy showed a high level of interest, asked questions to the specialists of the companies and received useful recommendations, which contributed to a better understanding of the prospects for their future professional activities. The presence of the department's graduates as representatives of companies had a significant motivational effect, as their personal achievements serve as a clear example of the fact that the education received at the Department of Industrial Pharmacy of KNUTD is a reliable foundation for building a successful career in the field of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
